I can't help much but I do own a Canadian Alt Camshaft and from what I can tell the quality of the construction and plastic is about as flimsy as the American versions I own.
But he's a bad example... I'd say the quality is pretty standard throughout and the safety regulations will be the same since they're all coming off the same line in China.

The CDN G1 TFs had many more 'error' boxes than the US ones did. As I only collect G1 CDN boxed TFs I can tell you that the following errors were made:
- G1 Swoop was called 'Tracks' on his tech spec
- Soundwave and Buzzsaw were called 'Autobots' on their tech specs.
- Megatron was called an 'Autobot' on their tech specs and his tech spec was huge in size by comparison to the US version.
- Sky Lynx's box's tech spec was all screwed up and it has no UPC Code.
- Optimus Prime's tech spec was huge in size by comparison to the US version.
- PEPSI OP CDN version had a huge sticker for the trailer that covered it's entire side.
- CDN Dinobot Slag had a red face and white legs unlike the one seen in the rest of the world's release:

- We never got a few of the gift sets: Constructicons, Pirannacons, Computron unlike the US.
- There were other variants and variations that do not come to mind easily with regards to the CDN released TFs.
Attached is a pic of my G1 CDN Boxed Collection for you to see. I have been posting it a lot of late given the many threads regarding questions related to collecting.

BWOP: "Die-cast construction...It's a lost art!"
Longs for the days of G1 where we only had to worry about Megatron, Soundwave and Laserbeak wanting to be Autobots, Swoop calling himself Tracks and Slingshot calling himself Slingslot!
