Jesus! He really isnt that fragile, whoever started that rumor should be shot! Anyway if you're not going to man up and just get down to it there are some video tutorials on YouTube:
Part 1: http://youtube.com/watch?v=z8XhFYGlB4Q
Part 2: http://youtube.com/watch?v=d3zrm4ZTFCg
If you can put up with the irritating narration that is.

I think they got that impression from MP Starscream.
Rofflesaurus, he really isn't that fragile as MP Starscream. His plastic is of a differant kind. I had once snapped off his wing aelirons(sp?) accidently. And I thought, "Oh crap!"(I had folded them in the wrong direction) But I was able to replace them back on and when I looked at them after putting them on, I saw no stress marks. On Screamer there would have been if I did that.

I too have had his flight control surfaces pop off, as did the cover for the front landing gear. All parts went back on with no problem.
I am not surprised that people are having trouble with Skywarp when then miss bits out of the instruction booklet. I do not think that the step where you have to push the metal arms into te back of the cockpit is shown in the step by step guide.

...man up? Sometimes, I can respect what you post. Other times, it just makes me wonder why you're even still here.
Why don't you man up and act like a gentleman and be polite towards others? It goes a long way. You get what you give, and lately all you've given is crap. Don't be surprised if you get a nice plate of it yourself.

You sounded really quite irate until the last word where you just sounded cute (I'm not flirting, I meant cute in a tiger way).

Oh no, I'm fully irate. I just had to put something in place of profanity. Board banning, "I can't believe you said that" profanity. I've cut swearing out of my life (as evidenced by my posts here and on other forums) I'm trying to calm down and bring a sense of peace to my life. Posts like his help me not get toward my peacefulness.

Indeed. Except maybe for the shooting part. I'm sure they could take a TF missile or two to the head.

I don't like to swear either on forum boards. Though it can get hard not to do it, because a swear word seems to have a bigger "kick" to it then a regular word. Regular words tend to feel so, regular.Autobot032 wrote:Leonardo wrote:Autobot032 wrote:Alex Kingdom wrote:Jesus! He really isnt that fragile, whoever started that rumor should be shot! Sorry if you felt I was rude, maybe I was. However I get sorta sick of reading a new thread ever couple of days where someone is saying 'I'm so worried about opening/transforming a figure in case I break it/it depreciates in value so I'm going to ask you guys to tell me what to do". Seriously it's not that big an issue and doesn't to require putting to the vote, that's what I mean by 'man up'.

I found the manual was more than sufficient at getting him transformed. I also found moving the parts gently in some cases was just impossible, you have to apply force especially where the joints are very tight and stiff. Getting the hatch up on his back was particularly difficult, it just wouldn't move. I wouldn't have gotten him transformed if he were fragile, infact he'd probably be in pieces.
Also, I'll have to side with AK. What he said really wasn't offensive. I'd feel pity for people's sociability if they took offense to that.

I have Starscream's manual ... Skywarps ought to be similar. Don't let the Japanese text fool you, pictures are universal.
Is Screamer that fragile? I'm more worried when I transform Megatron than when I do Screamer.

Not only did I point out that Skywarp is not so fragile that you'll break him by looking at him (as some would have you believe) and gave him some tongue in cheek but IMO friendly advice to just take the plunge and stop pussy footing around the figure. I was also the only person to reply to the guys request and actually pint him in the direction of some online tutorials. Yeah you're right I'm a total prick.

I'm willing to agree with that, but that's just a perception thing. This is the internetz after all people appear to be arrogant, irritating, argumentative and so on when what they actually meant was nothing of the sort.

omg i'm so close to transforming it.
i'm not sure how to connect the sliding thing (that has the air brakes) with the cone.. and it doesn't slide down correctly all the way...

That's proebably the most tricky part. The die cast shaft that connects the nose cone to the cockpit actually collapses into the cockpit section. Make sure its at a right angle to the cockpit and whilst steadying the cockpit gently push the shaft into his back. It should slide in so the nose cone is almost flush with the back of the figure. Once thats done swing the panel with the air brake down over the nose cone and push the peg on its underside into the hole on the nose cone and you're done.

No there is no transforming transformers for dummies book.
You need to just take it slow. dont force anything and look at instructions carefully. or have someone more intelligent try it.

You have an instructions manual. At what step do you have trouble?
I have to say, he isn't that difficult to transform. There was just one step where I really had trouble, the one where his wings are supposed to come up. It makes more sense to pull his back up first then get the wings up and to the front, and then get the back down again.

What Alex Kingdom said is correct. When you pull the nose cone to the back and it seems too far back, it is. You need to push it forward. It's easier to do that before you move the nose cone to the back, though.
