KO Devastator + CrazyDevy CDMW-02* problems?

Postby Fragmare » Sat Oct 15, 2011 6:21 am

So I just got my CrazyDevy CDMW-02* KO Devastator thigh/leg upgrade delivered today, and I must say, it looks great, but I have a few gripes with the thing. First off (and I was expecting this beforehand), with the KOtoys v2 Devastator (the one that's hard to tell from the vintage toy) I have, the waist shield has no pegs, so I can't attach it to the front of the upgrade. Something I wasn't expecting, however, is the little tab that fits into the slot under Long Haul's cab is way too thick to fit. I tried to jam the thing in there, and it made a stress mark on the tab (and also widened the slot so the waist plate that came with the Devastator set won't stay put anymore). So I take the upgrade off, use a fingernail file to make the tab a bit thinner and it ends up fitting just fine. No big deal. Then I assembled the whole thing and clipped Mixmaster and Scrapper on to make the legs, and I can't get Devastator to stand up! I know it's a problem with the upgrade, because with the regular hips/waist, the figure stands up just fine. It's almost like one leg is slightly shorter than the other and he tends to fall backwards.

Has anyone else had these problems? Did I just get a defective CrazyDevy item? Is there any recourse now? I spent $35 + shipping for something that doesn't seem to fit and/or work like it's supposed to. :BANG_HEAD:

Crazy dev has a disclaimer about KO Devys.
I'd say if you haven't missed the CD peice, sell it on the forums or buy a g1 Devy.

Or wait fir the encore.

The cdmw-02 upgrade changes Devastators center of gravity. Even with the authentic one. It can be a pain to stand but it can be done.

Yea, he seems "back heavy" and keeps falling over backwards. That's the main problem. I'm almost tempted to go get some of those little pinewood derby weights and take Long Haul and/or Hook apart and stick a few of those in the front of the cab so he's weighted forward. I can get the thing to stand, but I have to tilt the whole torso down really far so he appears like he's looking at the ground all the time. Hmm...

Giving him a wide stance helps a lot.
