Damn you Skywarp-2! I was quite happy living without my RID figures.
*joke*
Yup, those figures do rock - and I'd forgotten how cool Cryotek looked. He's the only Beast former that I'd consider getting.

Sorry.. but yeah i feel your pain buddy... i only own Fire Prime and Ultra Magnus from this series so far, i am going to track down that Super x-Brawn soon and the other cars..once aquired its on to the gestalts, megatron and Cryotek.. I think i'll be good after that.. i did see a few Beast formers from that series that were cool.. but I don't know if I need to get them.. then again skybite is a great design too.. Arrgghhh so many good things about this Line!!!
What's cool is the whole Autobots versus Predacons thing.. it mixes up both BW and G1 mythos in a neat way!!
whats wierd is that enrgon/armada/cybertron series kinda left out alot of articulation in their transformers, and I was kinda partial to the whole giant autobot symbols on the autobot bodies, they were always in a shinny chromium gold paint..or large as life... which made them look very regal and almost royal guardians of Cybertron, if you will...

Man i love that X-Brawn he's the faithful royal guard, and his king behind him.. I mean he even has a shield and laser lance..

And then there was ofcourse the Badest Decepticon ever!! Scourge!!
there were 2 versions..
this one is my favorite..

this was the leader class which is cool.. but the glossy black version above with those giant arms!! he's really a better bot.. just wish there was a little more articulation there.. but still Nice figure!!

Nice weapons platform feature in his trailer..

I know you hate me now.. and so does my wallet!!!

Okay, okay - you really don't need to see all those glorious figure as they make me pine for those I sold ages ago.
Yup, the line had a few good ideas - it's ironic that the line which followed was renowned for it's lack of articulation and all over blockiness!

It's worth purchasing all of them really.
Scourge and the Decepticons rocked, and the bullet train team, while being brill trainbots, also formed Railracer- arguably the best gestalt team there is!
I didn't bother with the spychangers though. I'm not keen on minicon-sized transformers.

Yeah you'd think they would have made better strides in the articulation department.. i mean when prime Combines with his automatic trailer, he looks good from the front, but every other way you look at him just tears down the super version.. he has no back, no knees.. and just blech!!!
Atleast in RID the Prime combo has more articulation then the Armada ever had!! Remeber thats RID prime and his trailer combo.. so when you add Magnus, he still beats Armada prime and his combo with that lines magnus..or even Jetfire..I never understood the name change thing anyways.. in the G-1 cartoon he was skyfire which sounds better to me..
Anyways.. i can't believe you sold your RID collection.?? I'm just discovering how good that series really was..
Like bonger, i was a complete and Utter G-1 Purist.. I passed over every other series and never thought twice about it..Until I bought some Armada Figures.. which I thought at the time were cool.. and I heard Prime was a Red Semi again.. why oh why didn't I just give RID a chance, i mean to me, now, I think Prime as a fire truck is a cool concept.. it says hero in Alt and Bot mode..
So now I gotta play catch up which is extremley expensive!!!
RID not counting the cartoon dubbing, was a special little series.. and something to definitley buy if you get the opportunity..

QFT. RID was full of goodness. That's why it's still my fav series next to G1.

I remember beast machines was winding down here in the states and I lost interest. The internet was relatively new, definitely new to me, and I would go to my Dad's work or the local library to order car robots figures off of Bigbadtoystore. I couldn't afford much so I got the spychangers, convoy, the car brothers, ruination, and ... I think that was it. Then a year later they all came out here in the states and I picked up almost the entire line.
Never got around to watching the show regularly. Saw maybe one or two episodes, it has great anime transformer art that reminds me a lot of G1, but the show itself was hard for me to get into since I don't really like anime.
A lot of great figures, I finally got them all on display, but for me it was much cooler when it was happening than it is now. It was the return to vehicle formers, the beasts were done. That's what it had really going for it.
