Meta Ridley vs Swoop
meta ridley from metroid prime against the flying dinobot. both of them can survive in a vacuum, their both very durable and good fliers. ridley is possibly more intelligent, and probably has more firepower, swoop is stronger, slightly bigger and has two different modes he can use to fight. who takes it?

I'm going to go out on a limb and say Swoop would win, but be severely injured.

Wow, this is a real tough fight... *Thinks*
I'm gonna go with Skyscream and say Swoop (but not by much, though).
I agree that Ridley would be more intelligent, but I don't know if he has more firepower than Swoop (remember, Swoop wields air- to- air missile launchers under each wing and he also carries around a thermal sword).
As far as strength and size go, I don't think either has a decent advantadge over the other. It's all or near equal in those respects.
But I do think Swoop may have more combat experience, in terms of having encountered larger and more powerful foes, like Gestalts, Cityformers, Megatron, Galvatron, etc. So, he'd be basically used to battling enemies like Ridley.
But having said that, Ridley, too, may have has his small advantadges. Having versed the much smaller Samus in combat multiple times would possibly sharpen the Space Pirate's reflexes and coordination (hand and eye), making him a rather dangerous threat in hand- to -hand combat. Adding his fire breath/plasma attacks (I can't remember...) and sharp claws, Swoop would have to be on his guard at all times.
Swoop could rely on his alt mode to get the job done, but as Unique mentioned, both are capable fliers, so there's no real advantadge for either there. Also, Swoop would have to be very careful, as his wings are particularly fragile. Physical combat is his best bet, I reckon.
I think I've rambled for long enough... *Looks at the sleeping crowd* And now that I think about it, I'm not too sure if Swoop can pull this off. I'll abstain for now, actually. lol
