METROPLEX (be prepared !!!)
That big tower fits through his arm? Wow - that's almost like mass-shifting. Nifty stuff. I assume there is (or will be) a 'latch' mechanism to hold the tower up once it's extended?
And I love the lighting. Initially I thought they were encased in some sort of solid plastic shell, but I realised that was just how they were reflecting off the white surfaces. For some reason the floor lights remind me of a Borg cube, or something...

as soon as he's advanced enought in robot mode....
well tonight i had a few bugs to work out with tower 3.... i had to rebuild some of the rear panels of all of the floors but now as you can see the light in thoses floors will be yellow... also some exterior lights as well that i'm not sure yet what they'll do..... either exterior lighting to accentuate the future details or the will be more floors on each sides of the building....take note that this building will change allot in the next couple of days.... also some work as been done on medium tower 1 but not new pics yet.....

for your moving bridges on the outskirts, you'll probably want them to automatically retract and extend over and over again so you can leave them to do their thing while on display. Do you know enough about electronics for that? (I don't, I'm just curious
)
Also consider building a cliff or something for the ramps/bridges to reach on the other side, for display purposes. the ramps don't necessarily have to lower to the ground that the city is sitting on. I got the impression that Autobot City in the movie had a kind of moat, and that for the most part, the land that the bridges extended out onto were of the same height as the surface of the city.
You can easily vary the height of the surrounding land/cliffs and the roads, as variety is interesting. Some roads could enter mid-height of the solid body of the city, going underground. while others could merely lead to the top surface. some could leave the city onto the lower ground.
(if there were a moat with water, there would have to be walls to hold the water out) I thought I remembered correctly. There's a dam nearby. You can see it in the shot of the landing pad that Prime drives from. http://tfarchive.com/cartoons/info/movi ... tm0231.php
Water would be difficult. you would have to add clear textured plastic. that's probably best left out completely, but it's just ideas.
ahhh, while the resolution sucks, here's a nice shot of the entire city and it's surroundings.
http://tfarchive.com/cartoons/info/movi ... tm0441.php
It also looks like there's actually a lake on one side, seen from the view where Astrotrain takes off. heh. it's all interpretation. in another shot just as Galvatron is coming to earth, it shows land on all four sides of the city. (that very shot there, although it's zoomed in a bit so you can't see the land in the lower-left corner)
I'm not saying you should stick to this representation of Autobot City. and you've probably looked at this for inspiration already, but I thought I'd point in out in case you hadn't.
Don't forget to design the ground! maybe some roads and holes, like Cybertron's surface. *drool* some nice recessed areas with light glowing up from below.
Are you going to be putting any defensive gun turrets or anything on the city? So far it's all buildings. maybe communication radar. material processing buildings. (even robots need things like water, for things like cooling and cleaning during certain processes in manufacturing)
and personal preference, but I hope the city isn't 100% telescoping. While Transformers don't have to be realistic... I was just thinking that new telescoping tower in his arm looked like it had a generator in the lower half of it, but the office buildings above fold into it, so that's impossible. Not to mention his entire arm is that building. but who knows where they really need all the motors to move their bodies. I'm not specifically targetting that tower as a problem.

wow you've thought about this didnt you lol !!
well i'm always happy to hear comments....
as for all of the layout... all has been thought about and nothing will be done randomly.... the contour of the city will pretty much look like what you've shown me.... there will not be only city buildings format.. the arm is a good exemple... as for the generator below it's not !! lol i was missing some clear copolyester to finish the window up front that will gve it a more building approche....
there will be workshpos and guns and turrets (havent forgot thoses) but right now i need to concentrate on all of the major towers so not to mess up anything in the transformation... after that the rest can be done and will be done.....
there is so much that needs to be done here that i cant do everything at the same time !!! as for the briges or ramps they will retract automaticly with the touch of a button and all as been thought about on that part..... as for water i will be a clear resin that will be used as well as the waterfalls.....
but for now here is a small update ... inside the dome of number 4 high tower ... a really beautiful layout and great details and lights !!! more to come probably tonight !!!

Might want to adjust your focus. I can read all the papers on the background but the tower is blurry as hell.
Looks very cool though. I love the blue your using for the lighting, and this thing is jsut more and more mind blowing every time I see it.
