Ok, I just got my MP-03 Starscream and instantly fell in love with it. I am no longer able to contain my 2yr desire for a 1/48 Yamato Valkyre. I have 3 Masterpiece Valkyres from Toynami, and unlike they other 90% of the world, I think they are great, 2nd only to my MP-01 & MP-03.
My question is about the 1/48 Yamato's detail and durability. I always heard they snaped like pretzels and were not for handling, but a lot of you say that about MP-03. Is the plastic the same between the two of them? Are the joints comparable? Is the QC better on the Yamato? (my MP-03 has paint dribble, uneven weathering and glue smeared on the top of the plane with stress marks on the back before I ever transformed him) My Toynami's QC put my MP-03 to shame. I really don't want a Valkyre that I can't play with, that's just self administered torture. If I remember right, the 1/48's are 13" tall, just a bit taller than Prime? Is it the VF-1S that is Jetfire?
I appreciate any input you guys have. I wish I had the cash for the original Low-Vis version, but might just have to get the Stealth. Low-Vis 2 looks a bit cheesey with that generic camo. Anyone own these versions? Know where I can get a good deal?

I haven't noticed any major QC issues with mine. But I do treat both MP-03 and VF-1S very gingerly. It fealls about the same really. And it looks great next to MP-01 and MP-03. Though finding the Fast Packs to complete it can be a huge pain.

I havent had any QC issues with any of my Yamato products. However my MP-03 Starscream came with a few things wrong, like missing half of the "starscrem quote" under the canopy. Here are some comparison shots between the Yamato 1/48th VF-1 and MP-03 Starscream.

The Yamato 1/60th YF-19 is actually the size of a 1/48th VF-1. The Yamato 1/72nd YF-19 is the size of a 1/60th VF-1 (because the YF-19 is a much bigger fighter then the VF-1). So keep that in mind when buying these guys.
