And if this universe was twisted enough that you could be God, I know at least 90% of the human race would kill itself to get into Hell, just to get away from *YOU*.

3. I've never heard of Atheists getting married in churches. But I have to say I find it a stupid idea.

A mountaintop is the first place I'd think of. The only time I can see ever getting married in a church would be if my wife was religious, or if the church was an old cathedral or something that had some kind of awesome historical significance, but on that note there are many other places.

Because this nation was founded on Christian principals and this nation is predominatly Christian. That is why Christianity has such a strong presence here. The Pilgrims came here so they could establish their religious views without England forcing them to worship England's way. So the way they ultimately ended up solving that problem was by saying Hey, we're Christians but we don't like the Government to tell us how to worship. So in all fairness to everybody we will seperate chirch and state so that government can't force us to all be Catholic or whatever (Catholicism is what they were originally escaping from) But too many people take this seperation of church and state way too far. Seperation of chirch and state only means that the government cannot force us to worship in a certain way. We are free to worship as we wish or not worship at all. But seperation of church and state NEVER was meant to be used to take the words "in God we trust" off our money or take God out of the national anthem or to tell a judge he isn't allowed to display the ten commandments. but this is all proof of the all out war atheists have waged upon christianity. There excuse is that the judge has no right to display the ten comandments because he works for the government. And "in God we trust" wasn't on money before such and such date. And God was never in the national anthem before such and such. All stupid excuses for atheists to erase this nation of God. There is a war within going on and atheists are waging it against mainly, Christians.

agreed. its so easy for an atheist like me to jump on the tail end of a topic full of other atheists saying why they think they are right. i totally see your point here.

I think the reason its mainly vs christians is, simply, because of the sheer amount of christians. most of the people on here that get involved with the debates appear to be christian from what ive seen. or at least call themselves christian, or liken themselves to one.

a lot of the threads end up sounding kinda the same though. there are many guilty parties who invariably, not always blatantly, end up nudging the thread down the same old path.

Go check out Professor Smooths thread about "Islam must be stopped". Atheists in that thread find a way to defend Islam and STILL attack Christianity. It's extremely common. Christianity is certainly the religion under attack.

Your religion is not under attack. People disagreeing with you and wanting things changed is not an attack. When you see churches being burned and people being physically attacked by Atheists, it will be under attack.

Most atheists don't want "Under God" taken off of money or removed from the pledge. They just don't want their kids being suspended from school for refusing to say it.

The founding fathers were not all Christians. The majority were Deists. This is quite apparent in their writings.

That is another one of those arguments used by atheists to further their agenda and once again it is fodder for left wing atheist websites and books. The truth is the VAST majority of our founding fathers believed in God and only a small percent did not. When you look at their writings they wrote like that on purpose because they did not want this country to become what England did to force a certain belief system. So they took any sort of belief system and seperated it from government control. It was intended for them to be able to WORSHIP GOD as they saw fit and not how the government saw fit. And that is definately something left wing ateists zero in on and say "Hey! see? These guys didn't believe in God." That is false. Most of them did believe in God. Their belief in God is what brought most of them here.

Oh come on. Now you're doing it just because you can. It's offensive for any human to claim they're God and you know he isn't, nor is anyone else. You're being absolutely ridiculous. Your comments will not be tolerated in this forum either. In fact, didn't you just get in trouble for abusing your power, by creating another thread where you attacked another religion and rammed your opinion down people's throats?

Not only should you be forced to shut up and deal with it for a while, but you should have your mod privileges revoked. You're showing conduct unbecoming of a mod. You're an abuser and I freely state that.

First off, I think Smooth is refering to the Christian idea that God and Jesus and the Holy Spirit make up the Holy Trinity and therefor are largely interchangable. Christ does make references to the oneness of the three. I can't say where, exactly, but it's in there.

Secondly, I don't think that disagreeing with someones' beliefs is mocking anyone or being offensive. It's not an attack by any stretch if I disagree with you.

And he's been doing it as a logical argument, not as an insult, for quite a few years without personal offense from... well any other person I can ever remember he used it with. I know Glyph, a staunch Christian and former editor of our own HMW, didn't mind, as it is simply an argument. I'm personally surprised Autobot023's not even ran into it before.
