At the time Emirate Xaaron, Straxus and the like were created, there were no existing Transformers with toys that could fit the persona. Now there are hundreds to pick from especially if you consider the Japanese only toys.
There's no reason for 'redshirt' generics to exist any more - just do what Spotlight Galvatron did and use G2 characters - they may as well be completely new characters to some people but those who know who they are will appreciate it more.

I guess Im one of the few Stunticons fans.
I'm confused by this statement. Do you think that the mucks are Stunticons or are you just pronouncing your love of the Stunticons
Im just pronouncing my like of the Stuntacons. They keep recycling Runabout and Runamuck while they 5 perfectly good crazy Stuntacons in storage.

my intial thought was double dealer as well, albeit with an earth mode, but i could see how it kinda looks like dreadwind too. i find it hard to beleive they introduce a new charcacter in a crossoover series, even though it fits in continuity wise.... actually exactly what point in the idwverse does this take place? if captain america is there its clearly way before civil war in the marvel universe. i guess maybe its post stormbringer/ pre-escalation?

Since this is supposed to fit into the main continuity they're keeping it pretty much to the bots that have already been established as being on Earth. Runabout and Runamuck were in Starscream's infiltration unit in Infiltration so it makes perfect sense that they're still around. It's a shame that there's not as much continuity in the art, to my mind now that EJ's redesigns have been established they should be consistant with them. I'm sure that the Stunticons will show up somewhere down the line.

I guess the reason for picking the two Runs over the Stunticons is that it's easier to fit two characters in than five.

£4, are you mad? You're in London, there's hardly a shortage of comic shops in the area and you've paid more than twice the going rate for a current comic that every comic shop in the country's stocking. If we were talking about a title from one of the smaller comic houses like Avatar or an incentive cover that was in something like a 1 in 25 ratio then I could understand. Even if it was a fairly common comic that had been out for a while and you'd missed at the time that would be understandable. End of the day this is a current Marvel book and not worth anything like four quid.

You're right, I may have come across a bit too strongly there. I was just a little taken by surprise that anyone would attatch more than market value to a poorly written, not very well illustrated and to be quite honest badly advised crossover title that only has any real interest since it's supposed to fit into the ongoing IDW continuity. With luck whatever IDW have managed to get out of the deal in terms of rights to use Marvel characters somewhere down the line will be a superior offering.

Fair enough. That's the beauty of these forums really. So long as people don't let themselves take their points too seriously and get their noses bent out of shape when they disagree with somebody else's view then we've all got our own imput to add and people can take from that what they want. If I've been coming across as a bit overbearing then I'm sorry, not what I intended to do. Just adding my thoughts to the mix.
