I'm all over the Smokescreen, but I just can't seem to get into any of the other Universe characters that aren't G1-based. Animated Swindle, by the way, is all kinds of win. Get him.

I picked up Smokescreen and dinobot at my local Target on sunday. haven't opened them yet, but they look awesome.

I agree with you on all points. No Beast Wars for me. BUT, I believe Armada HotShot UNiverse is calling to me. Plus, he comes with another minicon to add to the collection.
