Man, nobody can get Gears' head down right. Maketoys failed, and here's Hasbro failing. Well, at least the Maketoys one has the toy inspired head right. I'll just stick to that for now.

=/ Kind of tempted to get FP's roadbuster now... this is kind of a let down. Guess will wait for it in hand first before I decide. I'll buy all of these anyway.

Hasbro's Roadbuster looks like it will easily be worth the $20-$25 price. FP's Warbot does not look like something that's worth $100, especially with an alt mode that looks like a brick on wheels.

You're probably right. I just thought I'll be more happy with Hasbro Roadbuster... It's not about worth for Hasbro Roadbuster cause I'll get it anyway.

I'll agree that Hasbro Roadbuster is not the greatest, but given the alternatives are a repainted combiner limb that I've never seen in stores anyway, and an overpriced FailprojectFansproject figure, I'll put my money on Hasbro.

Meh, his head was always just a flat slab with a face stamped on it. Not exactly Starscream's beautiful bevented bonce. I'll take something different any day.
Not sure whether to go for this or the MakeToys figure. The MakeToys version is obviously much higher quality, more poseable etc (and I love the transformation) but it's only available with Swerve, a character I don't have much of a connection with (I should really read the comics, or at least I would if I knew where the hell to find them) although saying that more TFs is always good, and I don't care much for official characterization anyway. Also it's much more expensive. The Hasbro version does look fine though, and it's much, much cheaper (although I don't care too much for the targetmaster thing...I guess I'll have to find an alternative gun for him).
Decisions, decisions...
Everything else looks good. Sky-Byte looks great. and Roadbuster looks pretty good too, good enough for me to probably pass up the FP figure (Recoiler and Riftshot on the other hand...). Acid Storm I'd rather have something bigger (either the Classics figure or do a custom on a bigger jet, maybe even represent him with Armada Thrust).

When I get Hasbro Roadbuster I'll compare him to FP. Unless you own the FP version you really can't talk. Even without Riftshot and Recoiler Revolver can stand on his own.

Eh, Revolver looks a great toy (although I have heard he's a tad loose in places) but he's also very, very expensive. I'd personally rather get Hasbroadbuster and then get Recoiler and Riftshot so at least i have some incarnation of the Revolver mold (and also those armour pieces). Also, original characters are always cool.

Why can't people talk? I've seen him plenty to know what's good and what I don't like. Still might get it depending on how disappointed I will or will not be with the new Hasbro one.

Why bother getting the other two when they compliment to other in the first place. If I only bought Hasbro Roadbuster I would stick with that since Riftshot and Recoiler's extra weapons attach to Revolver. I really think Hasbro Roadbuster is going to disappoint. Not because of FP's version which after watching countless reviews sold me on him. It's something lacking in this incarnation that I can't put my finger on.

Sure we can. If we only talked about figures we own, the conversation around here would get pretty boring.
Without even seeing FP Warbot in person, I can say with complete certainty that I would regret paying $100 for it.

Do you actually buy any third party stuff though? Cause maybe no Thirdparty item is worth the price to you no matter how good.

A few. I paid about $100 for Knight Morpher Annihilator and it was worth every penny to me. And I'll pay $100 for a Masterpiece figure.

FP Warbot wasn't $100 when he was initially released I believe he was $80. There were numerous flaws in FP's version of Warbot but IDW Springer was just amazing in what Hasbro did with a $20 figure. This time around with Roadbuster I wanted the same feat from Hasbro. What we got is not a great looking figure. I just hope I'm wrong so maybe in hand I'll change my tune.

I've owned a good enough number of their other products to have come to a solid conclusion on my own without having to waste my money buying and reselling another piece of junk, thanks. Also, take that "No experience = no right to an opinion" mentality on a long walk off a short pier.

First, maybe he was talking with shipping, maybe he's from another country, maybe he bought it later when the price increased. Unless the price was significantly bigger, there's no point calling out "but it was 10-20$ more/less expensive when it came out". Especially for 3rd party toys, available online only. For example, I bought the supposely 90$ Hegemon for almost 130$CAN because I bought it from a Québécois online store. Shipping was cheaper but I still had to pay BOTH provincial and federal taxes. So, for me, Hegemon was 130$, not 90$. In a way, it's kinda the same thing with official TF too. Did he bought online, in store, on sale, full price, early, late, in what country, ect...
TLDR: Saying "But it was that much" is useless because it mean nothing.
Also, why criticizing a figure so much ONLY based on photos? 1st, it's Hasbro we are talking about. A big majority of official photos are from toys that are mistransformed and/or will have more/less paint aps shown. Before passing final judgement, you should wait for a review from someone who have the real thing in hand.
EDIT:
Okay, misread some things there.
Sure, one must be sure before paying a good amount of money for a figure. And even if HasTak publish a way better and cheaper toy than my super expensive 3rd party one, I would be glad for 2 reasons. First, one more plastic goodness to own, and second, it mean everyone will finally enjoy that characetr the way it's supposed to be.

Does this mean the only 1st year character without a Classics general release would be Huffer (unless you count his PCC figure)?

Depends if you count FOC Soundwave, Buzzsaw, Ravage, Lazerbeak, Frenzy and Rumble as Classics. Or the G1 versions that were re-released in Universe. Or the United Rumble and Frenzy.
That BotCon Huffer don't look so stupid now, huh?
