I just play with them until I get bored,then put them on my chest of drawers in a cool pose. After that I then obsess over the new figures coming out, and once I get those I repeat step 1.

I used to take them out immediately and pose and play. Things are hectic so there are some I've only played with once or twice for months at a time. Oh well, still love seeing them posed at my desk and on shelves in the house. : )

Generally, for the first week new figures stay on the (metaphorical) "fiddle-with" shelf: I'll transform them, pose them, see if they go with any other figures... kinda obsess over them. After the "newness" wears off, I find a proper spot on my shelves for them (usually have themes going on; i.e. jet-formers, FoC, etc.) and put a different figure(s) on that "fiddle-with" shelf -- either the latest purchase or an old figure I haven't played with in a while.

i transform them a couple times, usually 1 or 2 stays on my computer desk for a while so i can look at it. after that, they get posed and put in with the other figures. sometimes, i will take 1 out again and play with it a bit.

I keep transforming them back and forth for about a week or two, then I get bored and store them away. I come back to them about a month later to transform them again. I will also take pictures of them to make best of lists or other fun poses. When I get a figure that is linked to the older figures, I take the older figures out to have the gang together and take pictures (like when I would get a new dinobot from AOE, or a new member of the Wreckers).

I play with them, pose them, play with them with other figures then I figures out where on my shelves they go. After that, I still play with them. They're just in 'rotation'.

After licking any new figure (of course....) I mess with them a little bit, transform them, then they get shelved for display,generally. If I find that I ultimately dislike it for display purposes I give them to my kids.

I also have a few on my desk at work. I pose them, etc... Good stress relief.
