Q about Henkei Classics Dirge & Thrust

Postby Kique » Thu Jan 15, 2009 2:02 pm

Has anybody heard anything about Hasbro producing Classics Dirge & Thrust ... and well Classics Skywarp & Thundercracker for that matter? I would love to buy them but at $ 85.00 each for the first 2 and $ 75.00 for the other 2 ... hmm I dont know ... You can get an MP Thundercracker for that money if I'm not mistaken. 8)

Nope nothing's been said other than the Original statement by Hasbro that due to the agreement with Botcon they would not be releasing them.

Its unlikely Hasbro will go against its own statement so soon. Maybe if Universe returns after Movie 2. But still highly unlikely.

I think is more probable to get a new seeker mold down the line, than to see this one released for those characters by Hasbro.

I think there were enough hint in the Q&A that if they wanted to, they could release them: they highlighted, that they worked with takara to make molds different from the botcon molds.

In my opinion, in 1-2 years, Hasbro will release their versions of them.

While that may be true, they also said they wanted to keep the botcon sets value. Which meant significant changes to them. So in short and I quote myself:
Maybe if Universe returns after Movie 2.

Otherwise, I think Acid Rain is the last we'll see of that mold.

really people? Let's not start this rubbish again about these stupid repaints Hasbro's not gonna sell em at least in the classics form so just chill if you want em that badley buy the botcon set sorry to be blunt but this issue is brought up so many times! Besides I really doubt thses things would sell that well if hasbro released them. Sure colletors would want them but look at acid storm he barley sells and you think 4 more repaints of him would? I'm pretty sure after a while kids and parents would say no because they already have 5 damn remakes of this mold.

I wouldn't mind a Sunstorm or a clear Ghost Starscream repaint.

Dang, harsh. :? They way I read it they might actually release TC and the rest after Universe picks back up. People really dont HAVE to b uy the over-priced Botcon ones, the Henkeis are pretty nice, IMO. Sure, TC needs some work done to him out of the package for the most part but it beats paying out the nose for a visually less appealing version, again just MY opinion.

To the thread starter, there are options if they DON'T release them but I wouldn't count them out till after the next two years and even then, Hasbro IS in it for the money and there definitely IS a demand for these figures from the fanbase. I know I would buy them and extras. I say they will at some point, maybe even as store exclusives like Classics Skywarp and Ultra Magnus, the Target two pack. 8)
