Hello All! I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to any TF literature that might be worth looking into. What are some books, guides or otherwise, that would be good to pick up with information on history, lines of toys, etc? I just want to learn as much as i can about the subject, since it is interesting and fun. thank you all.

If it's history you're looking for, I'd suggest finding Dreamwave's old Transformers: War Within series which takes place just as Optimus bacame Prime. Sadly they went out of business before they could bring their 3rd arc to a close.

Transformers: Generations is a Japanese G1 bible of sorts. Pics of everything and a bonus area in the back full of concept sketches and whatnot. I must've leafed through it a thousand times, and I still just pick it up and skim when bored/on the can/it catches my eye.

It's pretty available in my neck of the woods, but I'm not so sure about Europe/North Am. I'm not referring to the upcoming one that was a news item lately, I have no idea what's in that one.

Generations is especially good for toilet reading. You'll crap yourself when you see stuff like Greatshot and Superion riding a motorbike.

These were the main two I was going to reccomend...My copies of both of those books are completley worn out from how much I used them for reference...

Another good couple of books (that just went back into print) are these:

Transformers: More Than Meets The Eye, Vol. 1:

http://www.amazon.com/Transformers-More-Than-Meets-Eye/dp/1600102506/ref=pd_bbs_2?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1233947794&sr=8-2

Transformers: More Than Meets The Eye, Vol. 2:

http://www.amazon.com/Transformers-More-than-Meets-Eye/dp/1600102956/ref=pd_bbs_sr_3?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1233947794&sr=8-3

They have full bios and illustrations for EVERY single G1 character that was ever a toy or in the cartoon...

I've got 2 of those ultamate guides, both bought as presents, they are ok I guess, good for the bog

But you really wanna be buying some of the comics, like Mkall said war within vol 1 starts with the death of Sentinel Prime and is a brilliant read
