whats everyone more inclined to buy?
this topic came about (in my head) when reading about FP's possible G2 menasor. i stated that id only buy it if i could get all my other combiners done up in their G2 glory, which is doubtful. so i got to thinking about what combiner repaints that are actually out there, and what comes to mind for me is MT's giants (G1 green and G2 yellow) and TFC's (G1 green) hercules and (shattered glass) perseus. to me, perseus was just a bad move. are there enough SG fans out there willing to drop (near) $500 on something as niche as perseus? i know im not. however MT's yellow giant im sure only sold as well as it did because it was released first (for whatever bizarre reason).
but that begs the question. the go-to repaint ideas (when not changing the character of a mold that is) appears to be either G2 or shattered glass. which would you rather see?

I don't mind seeing either or, I just love repants
What we should keep in mind however, is that the pool for G2 repaints is rather limited compared to Shattered Glass, even if taking some of the neon repaints of G1 into account.
SG takes inspiration anywhere, even from G2 (case in point: Slicer/SG Wheeljack and Thndercracker). That and SG is FunPub only, so it's limited and expensive by nature alone. G2(-inspired) repaints have been done by both FunPub and Hasbro so price-wise the G2 ones win out. But SG wins in the Creativity department, especially in the obscure.

yeah... i thought about that after posting. the G2 well is probably running dry. which sucks for me cause id much rather have some G2 goodness.
although, something id like to see tackled in shattered glass: beast wars! i saw some (i assume) botcon comics depicting some SG predacons. oooh man id be all over that

Here's some non-FP SG repaints; granted they are the TLS vinyls but it is good to see in other media forms.

This also comes on the heels of the G2 repaint Hastings exclusive of TLS Grimlock; which i now cannot find the link for

I personally like SG a bit better, just because G2 is so fragmented to begin with that it's hard to have a coherent line up of that stuff. I like both though.

SG is lazy. G2 is not my cup of tea but it is immediately much better than lazy.

G2 at least has some justification for existing as modern day repaints. Still, I do like the occasional SG repaint.

I'm actually really bored of SG, it was a fun idea when it first started but now...not so much. G2 wins that way. Though it was a shame how G2 was handled, maybe if the concept of Beast Wars was first thought up at the time of G2 (so in a sense Beast Wars is G2) things could be different.
I like repaints though when they're completely new characters.

y'know... i wouldnt mind a sort of... expanded universe G2? by that i mean tackle characters who werent even part of G2, but done in the G2 fashion. besides, there must be character done in the G2 comic that didnt make the store shelf right?
