Sears in the Pac Nor West
Guys I've really put a lot of time and money into this whole collecting thing in the last month and have discovered now(after being broke) that there are quite a few unmentioned places to look for transformers and not just movie ones either. You just have to be creative. I am thrilled at how many of you have picked up good movie toys at KHOLS around the country and I think SEARS may be the same but there is a catch????
I'm not sure about the rest of the country but here in the PNW one of the three SEARS stores carries all types of transformers; movie toys, cybertron, and classics 1.0. Same story as with KHOLS there is a toy area tucked away in the corner, usually on the second floor.
I only thought of it because back in the 80s SEARS was one of the best places to get transformers.
You just have to think how a kid thinks. Remember when your mom took you to department stores? My thing back then was to hide inside the circular clothes racks and my other big thing was to FIND THE FREAKIN TOY SECTION. That's where my mom always found me...with some toy in my hand but I usually got the, put that toy back line. I am a triplet and have an older sister so we were constantly broke. Hummmm, maybe that's why I collect today?
Anyway, at the SEARS in Tacoma (Tac mall) picked up six different cybertron basic vehicles for $7.99, a classic mini-con three pack for $7.99 (too much) and.... one which I am very excited about a classic jetfire for $19.99!!!
Left classic ramjet, classic mirage, 3 basic cybertron vehicles, voyager starscream, voyager ironhide and many good deluxe figures including Barricade and Jazz.
So call your SEARS up and see if they carry toys

I was considering stopping by Sears after work today, but it was too much of a hassle so I didn't bother.
I did stop by Mervyn's yesterday, however, and no dice; they sell really crappy, really outdated knock-off toys.

Sears.com's "Find A Store" feature not only gives you where it is located at, but also gives you a list of different departments available to to particular store. I will be hitting a couple Sears today. Thanks for the heads up Sky.

Either the description on the website for my local Sears is wrong or they put that area in a completely inconspicuous place, because I couldn't find it at all. I couldn't even spot an employee to help either.
I'll try again tomorrow since I need to head to the mall anyway, but got my hopes up for nothing today, and I'm not about to do that again.

edit: so the website said there was supposed to be a toy department?
that's what I was explaining in my original post...only some Sears stores have a toy departments?
Man, sorry you wasted some time looking. I hate it when that happens.

Well when you go to the store locator, there's an option to see what departments they have, and it explicitly says "Toys", but oddly in the Home Improvement department.
Whatever; I'll go ask them tomorrow.

Same here; I went and checked again, and no toys there.
I'll go check out the Sears near work on Monday and see if they have anything.

my Sears seemed to be a meeting place for many Classics (see my posts in the Haul thread) and a couple Cybertron Red Alerts.
