Ok. Here's where I stand.

I don't want to use Hound. That dark green just doesn't appeal to me. Same with a yellow Sunstreaker. And I don't want to have more than 1 Protectobot.

This leave the combiner predominantly white. Y'all think that jives? And it pretty much leaves the one arm undecided. Smokey or Trailmix. I'm leaning towards Trailmix.

Kind of a weird color scheme, but cool NTL.

Mirage is a good call Jak. Mirage and Smokey look good together.
But this is getting beyond my knowledge of the story and characters.

The white you mean? I figured that there was a lot of white regardless of my choices, and it compliments the Tailgatey chest.

I managed to get him standing. I really don't like the pointy feet. I can tolerate them on Pumpkintrain, but not on Astro.

So I made some time last night to open this up.

I have mixed feelings. I feel they were to ambitious, and the result was a figure with 3 decent modes but none of them great. All that said, I AM still impressed with what they DID achieve.

Cruiser/battleship/whatever is kinda bland. Impressive for hiding the lion parts, but just kinda meh.

Lion mode, looks impressive, but is actually quite limited. Those front legs aren't very posable and his mouth doesn't open???! Unacceptable [-(

And does he seriously have a Unicorn horn?

Aaaand robot mode. In general, it's good. But I HATE loincloth pieces that get in the way of posing. And maybe it's just my copy, but his torso and groin separate with a mere thought. However, he does in fact look great. I like him. But to me, he's not Alpha Trion. He's this guy:

That's the Barbarian from Diablo 3. He's a war hardened old timer, and it's what I picture when I look at this A3. And A3 is not supposed to be that. He's the frail but useful wise old man who's there for advice (or an ex machina type situations).

So like I said. Mixed feelings. We'll see how I feel when I get Lio Convoy.
