Simon Furman & Steve White Interviewed by Sci-Fi

Postby Raymond T. » Sun Jul 15, 2007 5:31 pm

Our guru of People involved with Transformers, Simon Furman has been interviewed by the UK brand of the Sci Fi Channel. The interview takes us back to the rich history the writer of much of the Transformers Mythos has brought to paper in the various Transformers Comics. And follows the evolution of Transformers over the years, to Furman's present day involvement with the Transformers.

"Well, the new comics are set very much in the movie continuity. The first six issues, it's pretty much a character per story that we focus on. And also we try and highlight some of the ones who weren't necessarily given a lot to do in the movie, so we kind of cover characters like Ratchet and Ironhide, and Devastator, but there's also this larger story that unfolds over the whole six issues".

The article ends with a short interview with Chief Editor of Titan's UK Transformers Comics, Steve White.

"Aside from Simon (obviously) and Geoff Senior, Andy Wildman and Nick Roche will be doing art for the following two issues. I'd like to see if I can get some of the other 'classic' artists interested but I don't want this to be a complete nostalgia-fest. We have to bear in mind we'll be picking up a whole new generation of fans who only know it from the film, so we can't afford to alienate them, especially as there'll probably be a lot more of them!".

Yo, not for nothing but I never liked the art on early TF comics I red one were on one page Fort Max was the size of a space station, and no bigger than a tree on the next.

I respect what they did and had to do it with, but I'd prefer it if they maybe coached instead of playedball nowadays.

However I like Furmans stories and wish he had more time to tell them. It always seems like hes afraid of the rug being oulled out so he rushes to get it told.

BREATH MAN, calmly, ... in, AHHHH, than out, WWWWWWWWWWWHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhoooooooooooo...

Now go on...

Geez, that Devastator/Brawl mix up is really gonna cause some headaches for a while.

I'm very interested to see how well this magazine goes in the UK, I hope it is successful, as it is an easy way to get Transformers comics out to the general populace.
Awesomesauce; Use it, you know you want to.
