Could it still be connected in base mode though? Thats whats going to be most important to me.

No, Grandus lays flat and it slides out from his back.

This just makes me wanna skip a remake and go straight for vintage.

That is of course unless we get a comemorative, which I doubt will be happening anytime soon, if at all.

Thanks Though!

!!!MAN!!!

Thanks again, I can't wait to get this set up now!

I have the Armada set up and it's a great comparison, but the BattleStars just seem to have everything that Armada was lacking.

It always seemed like OverLoad was lacking being a launch ramp as apose to tower. Maybe if JetFire was a next gen shuttle as apose to a detailed curent model...

But Grandus is a launch pad, Bot and interactive base :-?

I've been ripping through the web trying to find leads on Grandus, Dug-Base and even DagBase with no luck.

It's okay though, as it'll only make it sweeter when I do find him. A remake is fine for set up, but you realyhave me wanting a quality vintage version now!

Thanks man, and I hope you had fun setting those pics up, and please, feel free to send more

I think something can be rigged up to have Dag/Dug Base connect to Star Convoy. The connection looks like this ( .--' ). The back of Dag/Dug base's head has a hole to fit something in. So as long as you can get something to fit in the bottom of that and the top od the hole in the back of SC, they would work great.

Hey, I never knew that G1 SC was white instead of silver like the re-issue. I think I like the silver better.

The Korean Sky Garry(Death Garry for the Brave series) is not a KO, it's a recoloured toy for a different toy line. Now, I'm not saying there aren't KO's of Death Garry, but I have yet to see one. I do, however, have a KO of Sky Garry. Got 'em for $5 from Bealls, here in FL. It's the cheap "soft" plastic, like the Dreadwings KO, and his legs split apart, but until I get the G1, he worx fine.

You may want to try Toy Hell http://www.toyhell.com/. You always have to E-mail him to see if what's advertised is still avaialble. However, the last time I checked, he had a KO Dia Atlas for $35, KO Star Saber(deluxe) for $25, and some other stuff. You have to get the Deluxe SS, to get eveything, that's the one I have. I hear it will still link up with Victory Leo, but I don't have VL, so can't tell ya if it does or not.

Awesome, especialy if I can tool something for Dug-Base to hold me over.

I'm also familiar with the Dark/DreadWing KO's. The type of quality used in these molds are something I'm looking to avoid completely.

Still I got them at a Flea Market when I got Armada Unicron, and man he had fun killing them

However, again, I'm greatful for the leads!

Also, I've learned not to knock Korean issue. My Big Convoy is Korean and excellent quality. These I find are sometimes recolored repackages of the regular Takara, but with a longer shelf life due to packaging.

Still, Grandus, is missing his conector, it does knock him down a peg to me, still for the cost, I could be tempted to look away till I can score a vintage :-?

I wish they would just reissue all three for a reasonable price. I know they already reissued Starconvoy but the price is already unaffordable and many people didn't know about it when the oppurtunity to get one existed. If only they would reissue all 3 in one set or something.

BTW what is with all the Grandus hate? It's a nice figure if you give it a chance. The appearance only adds more charm IMO.

How is Star Convoy unaffordable? I got my last reissue one for under 20 bucks.

Hell I was looking at one for around $70 with shipping and thought that was a deal!

I was gonna say the same thing, as far as reissues go this gut has alot of bang for the buck with all the subsections and all.

Granted the sculpt is kinda primitive, byt thats what you get with vintage! The articulation and detail we have today is because of ingenuitive bots like these!

StarConvoy may be lacking in articulation, but imagine how awesome it wouldbe if RID or Cybertron Prime incorporated hald the gimmick this bot has!

Still, $20 dam, I have personal Taiwan conections and I can't get that!

As for no love for Grandus, I don't see it :???:

What I do see are experenced observations of one version vs another though being presented in an informative manner for potential consumers.

Take the words of those who know to heart, less squander your hard earned dollar!

However, I must agree a full set reissue would be awesome, but since that isn't likely, I'd prefer to be educated by fellow collectors on how to best spend my buck :-?

You've been lucky, but you know it's not the normal going price for that figure. :) I think most of us paid around $60-70 to get one.

There is one more difference between the Brave series Grandus and the Transformers series Grandus.

In the Re-issue Star Convoy there was a red "cog" piece. That piece connects to the motorized part of SC, or Roller as it may, and then connects to Grandus to move the elevator.

Since there was no SC in the Brave series, they retooled Dag/Dug Base without that connecting cog.

So unfortunately, you have to use your hand, "Gasps", to move the elevator up and down. It kinda makes you feel dirty...

...Oh wait, wrong message board.

I think you'll be pleased with Death Garry. The toy is neat, the micromaster is cool and it is a great link to the Battle Star series for Transformers. The key is to remember that this is a G1 brick. There is no articulation in the legs, but he's a cool toy anyway.

I'm looking at it this way, for the price, if the quality is what I've been told and hope it to be, this should be a nice piece to acualy set up and display as my eventual vintage piece stayes safe in stasis(it's how I refer to boxed bots).

Still, weren't most G1 toys bricks :???:

Their possability sucks, but I love'em anyway

Also I looked into that site you told me about, I'm waiting for a reply on several items. Thanks for the tip!
