Starscream Sketch

Got a great pic of G1 Op or BW Megs? Whether it's 2-D or 3-D it's welcome as is any other form of art outside the custom figure world.

Not very much effort, but I thought I would give it a try since I'm not much of an artist.

As simple as it sounds, the best advice for any artist is to just practice, practice, and then practice some more.

Wht he said.
Practice is good.
Also, for 3D, just study G1 Cartoons and look how the perspective is.

Or, if available, use the actual toys, you can't get anymore 3-D then that.

Set em up in poses and just sketch away.

Reading comics and looking at official/fan drawings helps. You more-or-less just pick it up gradually.

No, don't do that. :P

But yeah, it basically comes down to observation and practice. I definitely second (or third, or whatever) the use of toys as reference.

I'd also recommend brushing up on figure drawing in general. At its core TF anatomy is basically the same as our own, so if you can learn something about drawing human figures, that can be used as a grounding for your TF drawing.

I'll give that a go.

Actually, I don't know if this is any help to you, but I posted a little step-by-step thing of how I work in this thread. I wasn't specifically covering perspective, but you may get something useful out of it.
