You know... the type of character, the sidekick type that tags along with the group, and is usually some kind of diminutive animal - type creature that often provides comic relief.
Examples:
Kon (Bleach)
Akamaru (Naruto)
Ryo-Ohki (Tenchi Muyo!)
Krypto the Superdog (DC)
Tony Tony Chopper (One Piece)
