So we have heard about the loose knees already but when I bought mine his legs were loose at the crotch area so I fixed it using a similar method to the knee fix.
These are the tools you need
these two screws on his butt plate need to be removed
Once the screws are out carefully place everything on a smooth surface to keep things in order
These two grey pieces inside are what need to be removed and modified
This is the piece
Cut the middle harder section of the q-tip to size
This is what it should look like once the q-tip part is installed to give it more internal support
Repeat the fix to the other side then reassemble him and boom it works like a charm.

Not a sheeple.
Think for yourself, don't let the magic TV box and social media do the thinking for you.
Question EVERYTHING!!
Just because you have a youtube review channel doesn't make you special.
I look forward to attending a Botcon soon only to settle matters with several idiots in person (yes this is a threat).

Re: Studio Series 86 Sludge upper leg fix
So does it seem to be a bad design on the part, bad materials or both? I can't imagine they molded those rectangular ratchet pieces to be that rounded and asymmetrical. It looks like they sort of warped or melted, which would be weird for a brand new figure unless just assembling the crotch was enough to warp them.
Edit: Also nice Snap On ratcheting screwdriver, I've got one I've been using for 30 years.

The design seems ok it is the ratchet parts. Thanks, I have had that screwdriver since the late 90s.

I tried the fix on the knee's, and it helped a lot, tried it on the thighs, but it started stripping the ratchet detents, so I abstained. Thanks for the help.
I am not a G1 fan, please treat my opinions as such.

I am sorry it didn't work for you as you are the only one so far that has reported it not working (a few thousand on reddit loved the fix).

The fix worked great on mine for the Hips.
The knees, are still loose, so will need to go back and rectify that. Probably a slightly thicker q-tip is needed for the knee ratchets.
