Ueah, but i doubt it would be high prioriry unless someone indicates it in that specific gallery thread.

Black Shadow's paint looks far better. There are more pin stripes and trim. There are yellow highlighted bits all over. His forearms are painted black. Sky Shadow's aren't.
It will be nice to see a comp in a gallery. All Seibery and such.

So I went back and read the previous page, and got Sky Shadow, and Thunderwing down and played a minute. Will got Thunderwing on my advice and I'll never live it down.

And RAR is right about them doing the splits all the time. :lol:

But I feel like this mold deserves a little love.
I really like this toy. His alt mode is an OK 'star fighter", but his robot mode really seals the deal. He makes a good action figure. All the detailing is neat. It adds this sort of biological layer to his sculpt. There has always been something real Beast Wars about him to me. In his sculpt, his simple transformation, and his articulation. The feet are nicely articulated, and it helps him hold some good dynamic poses. If he's not doing the splits :-P

I also think this is one of the best executed re-paint/re-tools, ever. :shock:

Look how the choice of colors and the placement of the paint makes them look so different. The green and gold "sinews" on TW are highlighting that Bio element, where on SS they're not painted at all. Making it more subdued, and the angular Mech bits are highlighted with paint. By simply re-sculpting that one chest flap, it just accentuates the Bio and/or the Mech designs.

I like SS just a little more. He's a more sinister looking space gangster. He pulls of that two handed tommy gun gimmick their guns do better than TW. Plus look at this headsculpt...

the face and the helmet have an awesome neo-classic TF vibe, but those horns are... I dunno... all Shogun Warrior!

So, if any of that sounds good, you might like this TAV Black Shadow chap.

I got my shipping notice from Robot Kingdom for Grimmy and "Sublime" Bumblebee today. Kinda disappointed that with all the new parts they couldn't give Bumblebee wrists. That would've made it a fantastic figure.

Oh wow, I didnt know the wings were unpainted on the animated version. I quite like the deco on TAV Swoop, anyone know what it is referencing?

No one knows. It's probably just a unique deco not based on anything. Or it's just a similar deco concept to Grimlock and Slug in using black with another color (Grimlock: Green and black, Slug: Purple and black, Swoop: Red and black).

Though, if one attributes Slug's purple to AOE Slug's toy, then maybe Swoop's red comes from the red of G1 Swoop's toy.

It seems to follow the color pattern for FOC Swoop, which technically is the same Swoop (though I dont agree with that interpretation of the timeline):

And I like the theory of the similar black and other color concept. Each would then pull from a different source. Grimlock with RID, Slug from AOE toy and Swoop from G1 toy (or WFC).

FOC Swoop's colors are G1 Swoop's colors. Silver, red, black, and with the translucent beak interpreted as gold like all the G1 fiction did:

As for the timeline thing, I view RID Grimlock as a new breed of naturally-born Dinobots birthed from the Optimus-revitalized Well instead of being the same guy as FOC Grimlock. Two guys can have the same name.

One last thing: you have him slightly mistransformed as you can extend the neck to separate the head from the collar. However, the head itself is easily popped off because the joint socket is too shallow to properly hold the ball.
