I doubt the CC#'s were stolen by the credit card processor themselves, otherwise this issue would be far more widespread (and it would be on the news as well). I'm sure that what happened was the CC processor's systems got hacked, giving thieves access to customer info/CC#'s. It happens all the time with plenty of companies and banks (large ones as well as smaller ones), but most of the time it doesn't get publicized because they're cautious to keep it quiet in order to avoid losing customers.
At this point, I'm just keeping an eye on my bank account, and after a few final bills/charges have hit my account which I'm waiting on, I'm going to call my bank and have them issue me a new card and cancel the one that is now likely in the hands of the thieves.

And by "shady" I meant they have either crap security measures or they have thieving employees. Most likely the prior though, since they already have difficulties handling a mass number of transactions. Either way, the company was second rate.

Ive just checked my credit card and it seems to fine, although the transaction has not yet hit but the amount is off my available balance (rough conversion of USD to GBP).
Out of interest are they serious when in the international orders section of my confirmation email they want a copy of my credit card with signature and a copy of my ID faxing?
Because a) I don't have access to a fax machine! And b) I'm not too keen on having copies of my ID etc... just floating around somewhere.
I've paid my membership before no problem without having to do this, but this is my first actual figure purchase.

Just placed my order. Everything went very smoothly. I appreciate them getting things handled so smoothly in the end. Looks like they did indeed switch to a super fast processor which can handle the kind of traffic that Transformers fans generate when they want something online. Kudos!
