So, seeing the pictures of Universe Inferno got me to thinking about what the first Transformers I had as a kid were. I didn't have many, as He-man and TMNT were the big influences in my life.

Which isn't surprising for He-man considering my sig.

Anyway, what were the first 5 Transformers you had as a kid? List them in any order, going from your first TF ever, or any order you can think of em.

1. Rodimus Prime
Went out of state with my parents to visit one of their friends. Their friends decided to give me a gift, this gift happened to be Rodimus Prime in all his Winnebago glory. One of the few figures that lasted through my childhood and survives to this day.

2. G1 Hound
Parents picked him up from a garage sale, I loved that toy, having the VHS tape of the TF "movie" the first 3 pilot episodes of G1, Hound became one of my favorites, so being a kid you can see why I was so stoked

3. G2 Sideswipe
I always thought black looked a bit better on Sideswipe, save for the ugly red-head. Another garagesale-former that happened to last through childhood.

4. Grapple/Inferno
Picked them up at the same time, again, garagesale-formers, but they were awesome as hell. These two I scrapped for parts early in my adult life to build relatively complete versions of Inferno and Grapple

5. Numerous Primes/Magnuses(Magnusi?)
We all had them, unwanted Prime cabs and unwanted Ultra Magnus cabs picked up from various sources, garagesales and the like. Exhaust pipes broken, missing every accessory, wear on the face, no fists. But I loved em, used them as mindless minions controlled by my headless Scorponok.

Since I was born the year before Transformers came out and I was immediately in love with it I've literally been collecting since before I can remember. But the most memorable are:

G1 Sludge: Toy loyalty has forced me since then to decree him my favourite Dinobot.

G1 Stranglehold: The only pretender I liked.

G1.5 Bulletbike: The first sign that Transformers were making a comeback.

G2 Bumblebee: The first sign that Transformers were making a comeback.

Beast Wars Armordillo: The first sign that Transformers were making a comeback.

1. G1 Sideswipe. I was really looking for Prowl. But this was the only available Autobot back then. Never regret buying him. Very nice figure. More solid than the Z car.

2.-3. G1 Silverstreak & G1 Red Alert. I forgot which one came first. Or that maybe i got them both at the same time. There seem to be no chance of ever finding a Prowl, so i grabbed Silverstreak. Sideswipe impressed me. So i got another Lambo. Besides, he's another character with the siren on top.

4. G1 Astrotrain. (Not sure if this comes next.) He's a nice figure. I'd rate him very high on build quality. Mine was the white-black Japanese version. All G1 toys in our place were Japanese anyway. I've never seen a Hasbro toy until lately. Maybe sometime after year 2000+.

5. G1 Silverbolt or G1 Gnaw. These 2 are great figures. I can't recall which came first.

What can I say? I liked Autobots.

I've been a transformer fan since atleast 1984. I'm getting old actually i'll be 31 this november. I've got alot of my transformers from my childhood still which of course would be G1!!.

My First 5 Transformers List is as follows:

1. Jetfire
2. Optimus Prime
3. Soundwave
4. Starscream
5. Fortress Maximus

Its sad, but I can't remember my first one. One of my earliest memories of Transformers was getting a G1 Grimlock and not being able to Transform him. I whined for an hour until my grandma took me back to the store and the saleslady actually knew how to do it and showed me.

I was into TF's when they pretty much dissapeared from the US. My parents went looking in every possible discount store in town to find any remnant and finally found an Action Master that would become my first.

1. Action Master Inferno. Not a transforming TF, but still my first.

2. Pretender Jazz. My parents found this at a thrift store. It was only the bot, and I did'nt knw it was Jazz until a couple years ago.

3. G2 Optimus. I got this when I was 2 or 3. He's still standing and you would be able to believe from looking at him that he's been through a lot.

4. G2 Megatron. Got him the same time as Optimus. Both were Christmas presents from Santa.

5. G2 Starscream. Same story as Optmius and Megatron

I also got G2 Ramjet, Sideswipe, Jazz, and the Dinobots for christmas that year. They are still some of my favorite TF's!

These are the ones that I had as a kid:

Just got to say this: I love your grandma for that.

Ha. I lover her too!. She was basically my source for the majority of my Transformers collection.

To anyone who posts or grew up in NY, we used to go to Jamaica Ave. 2 or 3 times a week to get groceries and our fresh meats for our dinners and there was a toy store called "Jasons" that we had to pass to hit the Italian butcher. Needless to say, I would pitch a fit until she caved in (worked 3 out of 4 times) and took me inside and bought me something.

I always kind of resented the show for neglecting all my favorite toys. I got Scorponok at an extended-family Christmas, but even he and Terrorsaur were... well... kind of dumb.
