Costing around US $ 1,000, those engineers at HalfEye actually did it!A friend of mine owns one and actually showed me the item in all it's glory. All three Getter machines interchange to become the Getter 1,2 and 3.(It's made of hard PVC/ABS with some die-cast parts, it puts Bandai's SOC version to shame.........but at that price, it's more than worth it.

I'd also mention another transformable Getter Machine (whose manufacturer's name currently escapes me 8-} ) That also is similar to the one made by Half Eye but it only transforms into Getter 1(but comes in 3 Getter components :eagle, puma and bear). And made of ABS/PVC with probably die-cast frames.

Anyway back to the subject, besides MP Megs and Convoy, I also vote for THS-02, quite complex given his size and CMS' Legioss and Tread.
For pre-MP tfs, I'd go for Big Convoy and Beastwars 2 Galvatron(those two really are a pain in the @ss to transform)

Do all Getter Dragons transform, or just the one that GetterDragun showed in his comment?

I saw a lot of Getter Dragons in Japan by Bandai but thought most of them were parts formers.

Not all of them. As far as I know, the Studio Half Eye is the only one where three components make the Robots. But they have two versions, the one shown above where all three ships can become all three robots and the Simple Change where all three ships become one robot (either Getter-1 or there is a Getter Dragun version).

SOC Getters are only figures and there is some company that makes a $500 Diecast 12" Getter that is non Transforming. The original Bandai/Popy Getters were just figures as well.

Edit: I left out Neo-Getter as it kind of sucked and wasn't the same kind of Robot as the real Getters.

Very interesting.

Now that I think of it, it must have been Half Eye again that made the earlier Getter Robot full transform. The 3 units that form into Getter 1.Same owner too also has the full transform into 3 Getter Machines by Half Eye.......owns the shop where I buy my Tfs.

So there's also a Shin Getter figure that also has full transform? Wow!

Masterpiece megatron will have my vote though in my years of collecting transformers, Big Convoy and Mach Kick from the Beast Wars II line is damn frustrating to transform back to beast modes. It is especially difficult when you are dealing with Machkick's horse moode.Worth nothing they are both shell formers.

Every Transformer is easy once you get the hang of it. I must admit to finding ROTF Mixmaster and Blazemaster quite hard, but after a few transforms back and forth I had it down pat. Same with MP Megs.

Obviously different people are going to find certain 'bots harder to transform than others. I find Alternators Wheeljack a bit of a pain - to others he's quite simple.

I suppose the only true scientific method to find the most complex Transformer ever would be to count the number of parts used, or maybe the number of steps in the instruction manual.

If you mean ROTF mixmaster I'd agree. Usually I dont really need the instructions, but I had to actually unfold them for him. He's rather a pain, which is disappointing too.

I would have to vote for Transformers Crossover Darth Vader, Death Star version. It seems like an easy transformation but getting the toy into Death Star mode can cause you endless headaches. It simply refuses to lock all the pieces into place.

I also don't understand the complaints about MP Megatron. I find him easy to transform. The hardest part is getting his shoulders in and out the main body. Other than that it is very straight forward. He isn't as fragile as he looks. Get transforming.

You think those are tricky - I've just bought something called an RPM - I can see the robot mode when I stand the thing up, but can't for the life of me figure out how to get it to car mode.

Seriously, right now MP Megs and ROTF Ldr OP are the most complex I own.

I honestly expected Voyager Tank-mode Bludgeon to be up there, as amazing as its robot mode is, but it was deceptive it was! Tricksy! Not easy-peasy, but not that difficult, either.

I still haven't figured out how the hell you get Action Master Shockwave into gun mode after owning him for two years. Do you need a Powermaster or an Omega Lock or something? It was advertised as "complete" on eBay.

This one. This sonnovascrap right there. It took me HOURS with the instructions to figure this guy out. My fingers got cramped. I had to take 3 aspirins to remove the headache. I curled up in foetal position and cried.

But I finally suceed.

Never again.

I think LC Sentinel Prime is more difficult than RotF LC Optimus Prime. The only part about OP's transformation that gives me a tough time are getting his arms to turn into the hood. Getting everything lined up just right can be pretty time consuming with Sentinel. Don't have MP Megs, so can't comment on him.

I had the hardest time ever with Leader HftD Optimus Prime. Damn arms that keep making a gap on the hood.

However, DotM leader Sentinel Prime is one of the most fun and easy transformers to transform, on par with HftD Leader Starscream. With Sentinel, many find it difficult to line his panels properly. Maybe if he's easy for me was because I watched a couple of video reviews before deciding to get him.

Why haven't Flywheels and Battletrap been mentioned? Not quite as hard as the RPMs, but still. I think I had an aneurism first time I tried to transform them.

Those RPMs are difficult. Once I decide on a mode I leave it that way, Jolt was a pain.
