OK I have got a question that's buging me for the past few days.
Which G1 Transformer isn't based on a toy of a previous line (like Diaclone) and is and original design/mold/Toy in the line?
Do you know who that is?

I think some of the Minibots from 1985 are original.
Beachcomber
Powerglide
Seaspray
Warpath
Also, I think Astrotrain is original.
Then 1986(3rd series) everything going forward, for the most part.

astrotrain may have been a diaclone design that was never released. it definitely is more diaclone than the tf only designs.
On a related note, as 'microman' toys became megatron, cassettes etc the very first hint of transformers from that line was the original 'acroyear' from 1975, it was a little robot that could reconfigure into a little wheeled vehicle, very simplistic but cool anyway. quickly followed by the even cooler acroyear 2!!

both considered classic designs by many toy fans but i guess would appear ridiculous to many today.

The stunicons, combaticons, arielbots and protectbots were the first orginal designs that I'm aware of and they pre-date the third season of the series.
