Postby Electron » Thu Oct 25, 2007 8:21 am

Today i went to toys rus and got G1 skywarp and prowl, aswell as commemorative issue Soundwave, but now my problem is that i have the encore edition soundwave as well as the toysrus edition.

Is one rarer than the other, because i only reli want to open one

I have a feeling that the market is a bit flooded with Soundwave at the moment. However, given time and enregry spent, I'd say the TRU edition will be worth more further down the line, only because he has a double decker tape deck.

The down side is that it's TRU and readly available, the Encore line will have fewer produced, but is exactly the same as all other SW's produced.

Flooded w/ Soundwaves? Where? Me want! I don't recall ever seeing the re-issue SW at my TRUs, near Chicago.

Electron, where is the TRU you got SW at? May I ask how much you paid? Thx.

I'm in the "I like encore more because of the single tape deck" camp quite possibly because i have the TFC soundblaster. anyway i also have both versions of encore and tru soundwave and i'm keeping em because they go nicely with my display (box wise). I like having the package on TRU saying soundwave in english but i really wished it had a G1 style crosshatch design than that aweful classics box (popup insert is cool though).

Rarity wise, i think that in the UK japanese TF's are always gonna be rarer and as its the single deck version, possibly more desirable as the truer version of soundwave from G1.

I guess if you're going to play with your TF's then doubledeck TRU version would be better because it has 2 cassettes, but why you'd want to play with a toy made in the 80's now is hard for me to understand.

Technically the TRU Re-issue figure is not "Soundwave", seeing as he has room for the double tapes, being a remold of Twincast/Soundblaster.

If you want to keep one minty, I suggest opening up the TRU re-issue, he was everywhere, and then you still have an actual Soundwave MISB.

wait...was that a joke?

My opinion...the encore will be worth more down the line because it is more accurate. The TRU one has playability, but if i wanted a doubledecked soundwave i would buy another soundblaster.

How much were the G1 skywarp and prowl? I think I'd pass out if I saw them sitting on the shelves @ TRU.

i'd simply pass. I'm sure he meant the reissues, and i dont care for elongated missles.
