Hoo boy, those look sexy.
I'm really conflicted now. On the one hand, these look fantastic, and the fact they combine is just awesome. On the other hand, the Scramble City combining style means they won't scale so well with each other (although from what I can gather, Apatosaurus wasn't as large compared to the Tyrannosaurus as is sometimes made out).
I'm thinking of going with one of 2 options:
1: Go with ToyWorld and forsake Dino scale accuracy in favour of DINOBOT COMBINER.
2: Pick a mix of Dinobots from the different lines to get the best looking scale (so Planet X Swoop, FP Slag, Snarl and Grimlock, and FT Sludge for MAXIMUM SIZE, provided he has the flexy neck like Columpio).

Re: ToyWorld - Dinobot Combiner
I dropped all my Not-Sludge preorders until we get color prototypes from these companies and I can compare an contrast them all with better visual info.
I was thinking of mix and matching as well, but none of them look quite right together.
Planet-X is going with the dark Takara Gray, Toyworld will have the Gold Chrome, and FP doesn't quite fit either aesthetic of the other 2.
I do wish we could get a reveal of the rest of this team rather than just the 2 legs..

I was all in for FP and i don't know what happenend but with all the reveals my taste buds changed and i thought the FP aesthetic looked really busy?
Not to take anything away from Columpio it's still an amazing figure all round i just wanted a change from going with the usual suspects , For me FP is to FP looking .
GCreations i might have picked them had the calves not been twice as thick as the body and it didn't have that unnecessary G1 wing kibble , What i really like about GC is the clear plastic and height .
ToyWorld however hits most of the right spots . Very G1 in appearance in both modes , not to busy on the eyes , nice height , chromed up , a tiny bit of clear plastic and even though i don't really care but it combines
I would like to see some better weapons but what ever..

If this is a combiner, they really need to reveal the other 4 members and combined form if we are going to plunk down cash on pre-orders.

These look like a nice G1 analogue, especially given that they are supposed to combine.
But just as warzon3 said, a matter of when we get to see a bit more of the full set now

DAYUM thats one nice shiney dinobot.
when all this 3P dinobot nonsense comes to an end, i may have 3 complete teams. PX and FP for sure, and maybe TW.... but like everyone else says, we need more on the table first.

That's surprisingly close to G1 for an update that's suppose to be a combiner! How do these guy even work!? Madness!

Yeah, those new pictures make it difficult to say no here. I really like TW's Hegemon and Orion and can only hope that their Dinobots are fun to transform because as of now Snarl looks awesome! Also shiny. Nice and shiny.

Lots and lots of kibble and partsforming I imagine...
Seeing DinoNot Snarl, he looks amazing. That chrome looks sweet. I'd almost be tempted to get him as a standalone piece.

Wow, box is big for the toy....
I'm all about smallest box possible these days....
I like how clean he looks, perfect for some reprolabels.

I'm sure it would if they could. Remember that Hasbro is primarily a children's toy company. Making collectors items could be too big a risk. There's a chance Takara might do it, but there's always the worry that if they make a collector based line that isn't Masterpiece that people will hate them because NOT GEEWUN!!!! (Although I think the Japanese TF community is a lot less obsessive about G1 accuracy).

Thanks Gema . I had already chosen TW but a little more persuasion from your self confirmed it
Gema you should make your own thread for all your reviews just so there not all spread out and it makes them easier to find .
Maybe a mod would be kind enough to help merge them all if you make a thread

I do admit it makes a great stand alone figure if you want to disregard the combiner gimmick. They hid it very well (at least for the limbs) But Grimlock is totally gonna ruin this set. Maybe it works in movieverse, but I cant have a t-rex that is bigger than a brontosarus on my classics shelf. I want all the dinobots the same height in robot mode like the G1 cartoon. Im not into that "me grimlock leader so me must be biggest" concept. Its so hasbroish. Having sludge as the torso would make more sense. Scrapper was the leader of the constructicons and he was a leg...

Unless, they went with Feral Rex's route where the leader is just slightly bigger?

Agreed, this guy looks perfect by himself. That chrome, those poseable plates...
But Grimlock is totally gonna ruin this set.
Let's wait and see what he looks like.

Putting aside snarky jokes about a Bronotsaurus not being a real thing...eh. Certainly in the cartoon the size of the Dinobots was never consistent- the robot modes were about the same size but the dino modes varied drastically in size. Grimlock was usually bigger in dino mode than Sludge, although not always (depending on the animator). Sometimes Slag was smaller than Sludge, sometimes he wasn't. TL;DR: The Dinobots were never consistently sized in the cartoon.
Also, the Dinobots never combined in the cartoon either, so it's a fairly moot point.
Its so hasbroish.
Ugh, I hate this phrase. Hasbro (and Takara of course) invented the Transformers- without them, there would be no Transformers, and this website wouldn't exist. Using Hasbro's name as a dirty word to describe everything you don't like is...kinda ignorant really.
Having sludge as the torso would make more sense. Scrapper was the leader of the constructicons and he was a leg...
Only in the cartoon. I believe Hook is usually the leader in a lot of continuities (including the comics) and IIRC the Constructicons are often depicted as not having a "leader" per se.
I kind of agree with you about Sludge forming the torso though. In an ideal world, the Dinobots would combine like this:
Sludge: legs and lower body.
Grimlock: upper body and head.
Slag: arm.
Snarl: arm.
Swoop: backpack and wings.
Ha ha Transformers go brrrrr

I hope we get to see the rest of the members and combined mode soon as well?
