I find myself torn trying to figure out which one i should get, so i have a few questions about the two. (The only thing i actually know about them is that megatron himself is made from same die-cast parts and all that noise)
Usually the TFC reissue costs more than the Encore one, but is that just because of the mace that comes with it?
Does one shoot bullets and the other not?
Does one version seem to have a better history of tighter joints than the other, accesories for gun mode clip on better, etc.?

They're pretty close as far as I know, aside from the extra accessories which come with the TFC version. The main reason it costs so much more is that it was release several years ago, whereas the Encore version is brand new. It too will eventually go up in value as it becomes more scarce. Both fire the bullets. I own the Encore one, and there are no problems to report, it's a high-quality figure and I'm very satisfied with it.
I'd recommend getting the Encore one while it's still cheap, unless you want the book-style packaging (with Dreamwave artwork) and extra accessories.
Edit: Or visit that thread.
I decided to take it easy and let the recurring thread slide. *shrug*
