Look at the leader class figures of the early movie era, and the ones of today. Big difference. Jetfire is awesome..... for a voyager class.

I am still of the opinion that Jetfire is a marvelous leader class figures. I really like that he is light too since it helps with the whole jet and playability thing

Yeah but COMEONNN I've been wanting new ROTF/DOTM Leader Prime sized leaders for a while now. I am actually not that upset about the voyager size though, since I actually kinda like the size of Springer.

Maybe they'll make a new ultra class that is bigger than leaders and includes characters like Overlord and Sixshot (whom I really want a figure of)

YESSSSSSUltra Class needs to come back. I would love an Ultra Class Astrotrain.
I think the point that they're making is that hasbro is charging, once again - as I hold this point for both rid and cw - an unrealistic and probably unwarranted amount of money for things that aren't actually worth that amount. They are overly hollow, and nearly completely unpainted, yet they are being sold at inflated prices;
I know a couple people (I've forgotten names, but distincly remember the conversations) on here work at the plastic distribution factories and that they say that prices for plastic haven't risen by much in the last decade or so, so if this holds true we're being asked to pay $18 msrp (using deluxes as an example) for a figure that could be sold at ~$12 or less; and while I understand that their could be a whole host of reasons for this, this is still far too much for far to little.
For instance, every day I get up and see galvatronus and superion next to cybertron wreckloose, and all I can do is sigh that LEGENDS CLASS WRECKLOOSE (bought for $7) has more paint apps, points of articulation, and colors than all of the cw figures... This saddens me to no end, as I know that my collecting days are drawing to a close with the end of cw, especially if the disparity between value for money and price becomes even larger (and while you say it won't, everyone said the deluxe price-point would never break $16, and even if it did, no one would put up with it, so, yeah...)
I am not a G1 fan, please treat my opinions as such.

Me too, and Takara delivered. They actually gave us a leader class toy, with leader class toy gimmicks, light, sound and transformation:

Transformers Adventures Optimus Prime Gallery
Just curious, the last Leader we got from Hasbro with Lights, sound and complexity was DOTM Sentinel Prime right?

Agreed, but please tell me you put cybertron wreckloose on the underrated list, he's such a great little guy, I mean a poseable midsection in beast mode, come on

The list was exceptionally biased because it was all about defending toys that are very dear to me. As I have never owned wreckloose, I wouldnt be able to give it good judgement. My hope is that both list spearhead conversations where everyone reveals which toys they find most underrate or overrated. That list wont come anytime soon though. I want people to get a good idea of my taste in TFs through the lists before I release those 2 since they are much more personal.

Re: Transformers Generations Combiner Wars Leader Class Figures Thread
I was being down on Leader Grimlock not so much for the robot mode which is adequate but for the Dino-mode being so flat looking, for very tasteless use of chrome on most versions of him. his legs being to wide out on the side of the body and his stubby tail - not to mention the lack of articulation in beast mode.
I prefer the tail dragger look of Warrior RID-15 Grimlock and G1 Grimlock over the flattened look of the AOE version.
It doesn't help that the Voyager looks like a Demonic Bunny rabbit either.
The twin pack version with Optimus & Grimlock is perhaps the one I like best overall the Copper coloured ones really put me off due to the lack of screen accuracy.

The reason I dislike the leader is because of:
The poor articulation (no ball jointed head?)
The use of partformaing for dino mode
The robot feet in dino mode
The robot hands in dino mode
The ratchets not giving a decent stance in robot mode.
And the fact that its all that for a leader price.

Never said it was perfect, just that it worked for me. I don't overly mind those and I prefer it to the voyager, and the robot mode is fantastic

I am glad you like that leader Grimlock D-Max since I feel all transformers need some love and it means that the resources spent bringing this toy to us was not all for naught.
I would love to use this thread to gush over a recent TF Leader: Ultra Magnus. He has his flaws which I will list before anything else:
The thin Plastic does feel cheap in places but only because it is thin and hallowed out. It is still better plastic than FOC and whatever was used for Scoop.
The hands dont hold he weapons well enough and they lack a wrist joint.
The head is not ball jointed, though I guess its because they didnt want it coming off easily since part of the transformation is pulling on it.
The Hammer can only be held in one way and not at the bottom of the shaft, which is too bad.
The hip ratchets dont offer optimal poses beyond him standing straight.
But the rest is great. And what is the rest? Well the entire transformation and how both alt modes look. Those three aspects are PERFECT and he checks all those boxes in spades. The alt mode rocks and is fully functional. You can store deluxe cars on top or at the bottom. He is a great interpretation of the classic look with a nice bit of an update. The cab part turns too and he has a ramp. Also, you cant spot his hands at all in this mode, which is great. There is almost no extraneous robot kibble side from the tip of his toes.
The Transformation is as good as they come. Every part is used and repurposed in robot mode. You end up with a robot looking very much like the G1 character and figure without the need of this being an armour for a white transforming cab. AND if you do want your magnus to be an armour for a smaller transforming white prime, it totally is since you can transform a nice micromaster style white car into a smaller figure which sits inside Magnus' chest (I wont get into the fiction, just sticking with the toy). So you pretty much get your cake and eat it too.
I love how his chest is totally new robot detail. You really have 2 toys n one with this guy and it is beautiful to watch him go from one mode to the next. I cannot recommend him enough.

I wish that CW Leader Class Ultra Magnus had ramps that are flat as if you try to push a car up it it's like driving in a pot hole.

HA!!! NAILED IT ON THE HEAD!
I think the point that they're making is that hasbro is charging, once again - as I hold this point for both rid and cw - an unrealistic and probably unwarranted amount of money for things that aren't actually worth that amount. They are overly hollow, and nearly completely unpainted, yet they are being sold at inflated prices;

Card carrying grumpy old man.

I wish they just made the thing out of decent plastic and with good quality control. Instead I've got a brand new figure, just bought two days ago, opened one day ago, transformed to alt mode and back to robot a grand total of once, already developing some really nasty stress marks on the legs that take way to much force to move around between modes and a foot that was tight out of the box now gone floppy already. Shame, since it's a fairly nice, albeit overpriced (aren't they all) design, minus the hands that can't hold the weapons.

I got Starscream earlier in the week. And I love the mold, I really do. It fits the seekers perfectly and Skywarp is going to be magnificent.
But one thing REALLY annoys me.
If they can go to all the effort of modifying the chest and head from Jetfire to Seekers, as well as giving Starscream a crown, why the bloody hell could they not further modify the tail section (to remove the clip ons for the booster packs) and weapons?
I don't like Seekers with handguns, especially this overly sensitive bloody thing!
I'll track down Thundercrackers missile someday. At least I know where Starscreams is even if it's not in the gun.
