I get the point you're making Sabrblade, but there's a not-unconnected reason I don't like this particular Japanese series either, and it's not because I'm not fond of reading subtitles.
For me, it's not about the plausibility of a human beating a Decepticon, but more a case of do we need it? I know in this case it made sense for Miko to give it a shot, but that sense does still come from the writers who could've done things differently.
As it happens I enjoyed Miko's scrap greatly. I just hope it doesn't set a presidents for the last seven episodes.
