Transformers Prime Shockwave Figure?

I missed the TF prime episode in which Shockwave appears in the flashback when it first aired and just saw it tonight, and I think he looks awesome. Does anyone know for certain if he will be present in season 3 and if a voyager figure seems likely? I've been looking at the FOC Shockwave at Walmart and almost bought it, but it's so small and over $15 so I think I would regret that. On the other hand I don't want to miss out on the FOC one if a TF Prime figure is unlikely. Any advice?

The only thing we know for certain about season 3 is that it will be shortened and subtitled Beast Hunters which leaves less room for a Shockwave return but never say never. We also got a preview of the Beast Hunters toyline at NYCC 2012 but no mention of Shockwave. It is also worth noting that Hasbro has yet to release more prominent onscreen characters, Breakdown etc.
Takara is using that figure in its arms micron line which is essentially its Transformers Prime line. The magic eight ball says future is uncertain please try again later. If you are worried about missing out on the FoC figure in lieu of a TF Prime release, then grab it while you can still get it for retail. If a bigger one does come out in the future, then $15 is a small regret. One you can sell at a later date if you choose to recoup some or all of your loss.

Yeap, a tfprime mold for shockwave is unlikely, let alone a voyager. If you really want a close match, get the AM takara one. It appears to have a remolded circular head.

This is the biggest thing I don't understand right now...is the rumor or statement that FOC and WFC fall into Prime cannon...and that they are apart of the same line.
Will there be eventual seamless official overlap in toys?
For example, we are getting FOC Grimlock, will FOC line end and then eventually we get the rest of the dinos as a part of the Prime line?

Not quite. Prime and the Games are separate universes in the same continuity family, tentatively called "Aligned". Don't ask how that works, but in a nutshell, they're not in the same timeline.
As for Shockwave, the AM version is a retooling of the FoC mold, adding Mini-Con ports to the back wings and replacing his cannon with an insect Mini-Con. No head retooling is done, it's all in the blurr.

Yeah I guess I'll go ahead and get one; it will be better than paying a lot on eBay later on. Hopefully we'll see more shockwave next season and get a toy. They need more named cons since airachnid, breakdown, and dreadwing are all dead or not functioning.
And I also don't understand the "continuity" between prime and the games. But I like both anyway. I actually just had a chance to complete FOC and really liked it; I just wish it would have lasted longer.

You won't be unhappy with FOC Shockwave. I actually have two of him, one for my Cybertronian display (made up mainly of WFC and FOC figures) and one for my Classics display. The Hasbro release allows for several different display options, so you can achieve his G1 look with a big canon arm, or have him with two regular arms and holding a big gun, or even holding a normal gun and hide the big laser muzzle on his back.
As far as the "Aligned Continuity" issue, it's my understanding that High Moon Studios originally developed War for Cybertron as its own, stand alone story or continuity, heavily influenced by Gernation 1. It was written to dovetail nicely with the original cartoon and comics. Hasbro was so impressed with the game while it was being developed that they decided to use it as the basis for their new Transformers history "going forward." In other words, they wanted to "align" the various franchises of the brand together with one unified mythology. Unfortunately, I don't think much was done beyond that initial outburst of enthusiasm, as several more pieces of media came out telling the history of the Prime/Aligned Continuity that create all sorts of contradictions. If the foreshortened third season of Prime and rumors of it ending after such are any indication, Hasbro has all but given up on the Aligned continuity at this point and the next tentpoll franchise will change things up yet again.

I don't see how a Prime Shockwave mold of some sort is unlikely. Hasbro said they'll be trying to get all in-show characters as toys. They have new molds for every character except Shockwave & Insecticon (and the cannon fodder Jet Vehicons) so why not? There's a whole new toyline for them to do that.
P.S: I'm talking about toys in general. That includes Cyberverse figures.

Yeah, but Hasbro have never been fans of having different versions of the same character on shelves at the same time (the reason why we didn't get a Classics-verse Jazz for so long). Given that FOC Shockie is available in the Combaticon wave too, they're probably in no rush to release a PRID version.

Of course not. PRID is already over. The only thing left from that line to be released is Skyquake, whom I fear will be cancelled. We're going into Beast Hunters now.
And, if what you're saying is true, then why not release a Prime Shockwave in later waves of Beast Hunters?

Why not indeed? I'm sure when the last of the FOC Shockwaves has vanished from shelves they'll be happy to produce another version. And I'm calling it PRID more out of habit than anything else.
Personally though I don't feel the NEED for a new Shockwave at this point. FOC works perfectly well as a Classics-verse Shockie and I don't feel a Prime figure would have much to add.

Whatever the case I hope a voyager Shockwave is eventually released. Hasbro missed an opportunity for a DOTM Leader shockwave and I hope they don't with this version.
Also, is it confirmed that there will only be one more season? It seems like they could make this show last much longer than that. This is now my favorite transformers "universe;" I think it would be a shame to cut it off so soon.

Re: Transformers Prime Shockwave Figure?
Well, we have both a Prime and FoC Soundwave (+ Laserbeak) and Starscream, so Shockwave getting a Prime figure probably wouldn't be totally out of the picture. Granted the two Soundwaves, Laserbeaks, and Starscreams are very different from each other, while the Shockwaves are fairly similar.

Though Soundwave and Starscreams are both A-listers, and there's a gap between Starscream releases, and Soundwave is getting the benefit of being a major player in a game and a cartoon at the same time in two different bodies.
