Trypticon hip problem?
- Weapon: Vibro-Axe
Hi, I just got a brand new Trypticon in from BBTS and I have heard that his hips can destroy themselves if not fixed. Does anyone know if Hasbro ever actually fixed this problem in later releases of the toy or do I just have to do the fix? Thanks in advance!

The hip problem was fixed in later releases. I don't know the production run numbers, but I do know that another change happened after the fix: the two towers that were initially mirror images were changed to be asymmetrical (meaning the sculpting is completely different between the two. Also, the TakaraTomy Legends release has no problems AFAIK.

Re: Trypticon hip problem?
Take a look at the back of the box. Near the bottom there should be a 5-digit number pressed into the package. This is your Trypticon's batch number, and can be used to figure out if it was part of the early run with hip problems before you even open him. Several groups of fans have made lists of "good" and "bad" numbers, and a quick internet search for "trypticon batch number" should point you in the right direction.
Rushing in where Hasbro fears to tread (for now)...
