Very weak, but I think that it is done on purpose. Projectile laws and whatnot, plus the fact that he "auto" fires in an upwards direction, ie. towards the face if you are holding him face forward to you.

When I first heard of UBB, I thought "cooooool.... I want that!"

Then I read some reviews and thought "oh... maybe not"

Last week, I saw it in the shops and resisted the urge, based on the reviews.

Then I read some different reviews.


Now he's sitting in alt mode on the desk next to me, and has been transformed at least once most nights this week


I think the robot mode can be made a bit more "ultimate" by intentionally mistransforming him a little.

If, instead of leaving the legs as described in the instructions, you

* twist the top joints out a little, so hip guards are facing sideways (more like the deluxe or unleashed models), rather facing forwards

* don't swing the hip joints fully up to the torso, but leave them about half way between alt mode position and fully up

it's possible to bend his legs forwards and make some more varied poses.

Like this, his legs also look far better (imo, of course), more like the '08 deluxe version.

Time to write new instrauctions set!
