Universe and cybertronian prime

Postby decepta-scott » Tue Jun 21, 2011 8:55 am

Are theese the only optimus figs available to clasic fans? I like universe prime but he is way too small. I got the two pack with the green megs the other day and was shocked to see how small he was.
In light of this discovery I have decided to make my cybertronian prime my display prime. I think it is a very good portreyal of optimus. Ya know I have only seen one of him and thats the one I bought. Anyway I was wondering if there was another version of universe prime that was a bit larger. I was hoping that maybe the one sold individually was a bit larger. Anyone know?

Yeah. I should have specified. I think the voyagers are much to large for the five/six inch figs yes? Im looking to display a nice bulky prime with my clasics but not so large that he looks out of scale.
Im thinking the two I mentioned and the one that they did the repaint of magnus with is all they have made.

There's a grand total of 4 different Optimus Prime molds in all Classics-themed lines, not counting the Legends, apread acorss Classics, Generations and Reveal the Shield:

Classics Optimus Prime, Voyager:

Classics Optimus Prime, Deluxe:

Generations Cybertronian Optimus Prime:

And finally, Reveal the Shield Optimus Prime, G2 Laser:

The Voyager is long sold out, but is considered the best out there. He's actually shorter than a real Voyager should be, about the height of the current Voyager Optimus Prime. Go figure.
The resident Rewind... well, half of one

Yeah, Voyager Classics Prime is a bit shorter, but I'd say depends on if you have Classics Megs or not to go get him or if you just love him. And size wise against the other deluxes he isn't bad. And the only one with a Trailer you can get "thus far"

And I got my Prime M.I.B. off EBAY. so there still out there. There was a thread a while back (a long while back) about Transformers hoarding and that guy had at least 2 or 3 still in box, so there out there, just patience.

I think that Voyager Classics prime is one of the best versions out there, but there is another option...

While the original Masterpiece Prime is obviously too large to fit in well with a Classics display, the newer MP-10 might be a better fit. I have no idea how he will scale up next to the older MP Prime or deluxe classics figs, but he's pretty darnn G1 accurate, comes with a trailer, roller, and Spike! So yeah, that might be a touch expensive, but when it comes out I think it would be my OP of choice for that scale.
