Wave 3 Target Scouts Review

Here are short reviews of Movie Targer Exclusive Scouts Air Raid and Armorhide.

Alt Modes(with Movie Skyblast and Cybertron Armorhide):

Lets start with Air Raid. He's a redeco of Skyblast(himself a repaint of Energon Skyblast). The figure is now mostly green with black and tan thrown in for a cameo pattern. I'm not sure what good jungle cameo does an aircraft, but it looks great. He also has a Sector 7 emblem on the raised part between the intakes. The translucent pieces that form Skyblast's weapons in robot mode are painted solid black. He has an Autobot spark crystal in the center of the intake piece.

Overall, I like this color scheme a lot better than Skyblast's

Armorhide is next, and he is a straight repaint of Cybertron Armorhide; the pattern is pretty much exactly the same, but the figure is now black and yellow with metallic silver use for the grill and windows. Where Cybertron Armorhide had an Autobot symbol, Movie Armorhide has a Sector 7 logo. Movie Armorhide comes with a black cyber planet key with the Sector 7 logo stamped on it.

Overall, the color scheme is an interesting contrast to the bright colors of the original figure.

Robot Modes:

In robot mode, Air Raid shows some more grey, and some creepy red eyes. His weapon works exactly the same as Skyblast's and can be either a gun or a spear. There have been no mold changes, so he has the same articulation as Skyblast, as well as the notable lack of articulation in his knees. However, his joints do seem tighter than Skyblast's

Overall, I like his colors better than Skyblast, but as this mold has been released twice before, I'd skip him unless you missed out before, or just really like the name Air Raid(like me).

Like his Cybertron incarnation, Armorhide keeps the same color scheme in robot mode. For articulation, he has ball joints almost exclusively. Mine has an extremely loose joint on his left knee, but it could be I just got the lucky mold. His Cyberkey gimmick is intact and works well.

Overall, Armorhide was a great figure in Cybertron and he's a great figure again. This is only the second use(not counting Botcon Huffer) of this figure, so if you like him or missed him in Cybertron, pick him up now.

Thanks for that! I was debating long and hard because I liked the look of Air Raid. However, I just knew if I started buying these two guys I'd want to get the rest of the Scouts... Transformers has truly transformed my financial situation, so I had to pass. Got only Arcee (this is your Target exclusive, but over here just a regular part of the Scout line) and Elita-One.

Motto: "This is your end."
Weapon: Quasar Cannon
Agreed. I have both Air Raid and Skyblast, but I'm keeping Air Raid MISB. I think the only scout I've missed was Arcee but no biggie since I have Elita-1
