What is it about ultimate bumblebee that makes him a must own transformer
Now that I have him I understand what people were talking about when they said this is a most own transformer. But what is it about him that makes him that way. I hope someone can answer this question because I'm having a hard time answer it myself.

Serpentor "I am the one born to rule and destined to conquer. Let those who fear me, follow me. Let those who oppose me, die."

I would not call him a "must own" figure.
But he is a fun figure to own.
Personally I think all the fun of the figure, and what makes him so appealing is his alt mode.
The lights and sounds are not so garish and annoying in car mode, they mostly make sense. The motion sensing revs and brake noises are quite clever too.
The song choices and "voice" grabs are seriously annoying though.

I've seen him at Target several times now, and I've played around with his demo feature. I dunno. He looks nice, but $70-80??? He's not that nice.

I would not call him a 'must have'.
As Shortround stated, I cannot come up with any reasons to say it must be a 'must have', thus it is not a must have, but more of an interesting TF with some fun gimmicks and a hefty price tag.

Wait, you say you have him and thus understand why it's a must- have, but then you say you can't answer why it's a must-have?

If he were in scale with the existing alternator line.
He would be an absolute must have.
Too big, too expensive, and there is nothing to display side by side with him.

Agreed.
Don't have it, don't want it, and if I did it would be out of place in my collection.
That said, if it was on clearance for about $30 I might get it for the kids to play with.

He scares hell out of my cats.
Mine has stayed in car mode since the first day I got him.

I have him and I can honestly say he's my new favorite Transformer. And I love the electronics and motorized parts.

I have Ultimate Bumblebee and he is soon to be my favorite figure yet! I like his detail and his size, he looks very Movie accurate, has smart gimmicks and features, and is a very fun toy, I can tell just by seeing it!

I love him too. What you can't tell in the box is how cool he looks and how HUGE he is once his arms and doors are in place and his shoulder tires are up and angled. He just looks awesome and is enormous. He has a great transformation and looks good in both modes. He bends at the knees, his legs swivel. and legs ratchet up, back and out at the hip. So I don't know why people say his legs aren't articulate. He even swivels at his waist. He actually moves alot more then I thought he would considering people have been calling him a paperweight. I wish his arms moved a bit more but they feel trapped by the electronics. However you can wait until he's moved into the position you like and switch him off real fast, which leaves him in that position. That's what I do with mine when I want his arms up or down.
Don't care for the electronics at all and just leave them turned off, and I wish his right arm bent at the elbow, but other then that I have no complaints at all. And considering a Leader figure is $50 dollars, paying $70 dollars for a figure almost twice the size of a Leader figure seems like a pretty fair price.
But these are all just opinions....
