its a tie between classics or alternators... scaleing is a must have for me. i hate haveing tiny jets next to cars

classics-
good variety of vehicles.
cheaper
bad amount of in scale decepticons
bad scale

alternators-
good scale
expensive
missing a megatron.
lacking variety (only sportscars and whatnot)

im also wondering...
wich his easyer to find?...
and wich is going out of produciton first?
parts im looking for = g1/g2/ko dinobot weapons.
wilder/fangry head guns and wings.
pretender bumblebee weapons.
g2 lazerrod lasersword.

Alternators are going to cost you a hell of a lot more money to complete but they are worth every penny!

Both lines are out of production and have been for awhile. Classics is going to be way cheaper and easier to complete in the secondary market - Even if you did Henkei you would never come close to spending what you will be spending on a complete set of Alternators.

If you were to count the Masterpieces in with the Alternators that would give you some variety in alt modes as well as a Megatron and Seekers (although the jets will still be out of scale).

On the other hand if you're going to be transforming them a lot then it might be better to go with Classics if you want to avoid overly complex transformations (which the Alts and MPs certainly have).

Both were good collector oriented series though and both have their strengths and weaknesses. If you really have trouble deciding on a focus between the two lines why not try picking up one or two pieces from both and seeing which moves you the most once you have it in hand.

If you play with them, I would go with the Classics, both 1.0 and
2.0 (when the line officially comes out). The Alternators are mainly display items in my opinion unless the person is very careful when playing with them. I have both lines....and the Alternators can be annoying if they are constantly transformed, especially....the Mustang mold.

But if you want to get some of the Alternators and see if you like them along with the Classics line. But already mentioned earlier, Alternators can cost a large amount to complete.

My personal preference would be to get the classics. I do have a good amount of Alts/BT's and I love them to death, but to choose just one, I love the playability of Cls and fun/simple transformations. I can also have more Cls on display since they also take up less space then Alts.

I say this: Collect the classics/universe line and get potential favorites from the Alt/BT line. I also don't see why you can do both. Just dip into one more then the other and find out for yourself which you prefer.

Alt/BT favs:
Smokescreen/Silverstreak
Shockblast(Shockwave)
Hound/Swindle
Mirage (one of my absolute favorites)
Wheeljack

I've never tried to transform Grimlock/Wheeljack from the alternators line, but I KNOW one of the most pain-in-the-but-to-do transformations ever is on the corvette mold, which can be Battle Ravage (I have this one) or Tracks. The legs force you to push them hard into posistion so they can bypass the uneeded extened door hinges, and so much force is required, I've resolved to never atempt to transform him again in fear of breaking him.

Anyways, back to the main topic. I say get the classics if you like to play with your figures, as they were clearly designed to be played with. Alternators are collectors peices, and there is indeed little variety in molds. Plus alternators have short guns, which sucks considering how big other tf's guns are.

No, there are a lot of people who still play with transformers, it’s like reading, once you start you never quit until you go blind. I play with some of my Transformers. 8)

But, I’d recommend Classics, they’d be easier on the wallet, better for play, better variety of not only alt modes, but molds.
