What's this?

Postby Bluebullet » Fri Mar 09, 2007 5:03 pm

My dad and I were wondering about something. There's an auction on Ebay for a mystery transformer. It is G1 Victory. The box is 5 7/8" x 3 1/2" x 1 3/4". It says Kabaya on it(I know some about it, but can someone elaborate?). On one side it shows Star Saber, and on the other it shows Road Caesar.
Here are some pics:

My questions are:
- What's inside? and,
- Is it authentic?

I would appreciate some answers about this item ASAP. Thanks!

Kabaya is a company that makes licensed candy-toys. I forget the term, but they're little plastic collectible toys that come boxed in with a pack of ramune-candy or stick of gum that they sell near the checkstand. Inside the box is going to be one of the four little toys in the illustration but I don't see a number so it may be blind-packaging. They're generally moulded in two or three colors and lack any paint applications.

It is a Transformers Victory series model kit. With an unknown figure in it from that line. They are about 2 to 3 inches tall when assembled. The only ones I have are the KO versions from ebay. They normally need to be painted and have stickers. The figure transforms (at a more basic level).

Road Ceaseris one of the combiner teams from Victory and is ironically on the front page of the site at the moment. Star Saber was the leader of the Autobots (or Cybertrons in the Japanese continuity) for the entire series of Transformers: Victory

I have the episodes on DVD with that awful, yet hilarious dubbing (done by maybe three british guys and one too many pints) It really was a good series. You got to see alot of figures you never would have seen in the US like Blue Bacchus (Thunderwing) and Black Shadow (Crossblades)or Greatshot, a remould of Sixshot. You even got to see Prime die (again) and be brought back to life by Minerva, Perceptor, and Wheeljack as Victory Leo.

If you ever get the chance to pick up or download some of the episodes, don't bother hesitating. They are really fun to watch and makes you wonder how the US side of things could have eventually screwed it up. :P

If there's anything else you want to know about it check out the Vector Sigma Database and look under Victory. I hope that helps you out Bluebullet.
