Whats wrong with K-mart?

Feel free to discuss anything about any of the thousands of Transformer toys here. Anything from Generation 1 all the way to the soon to be released, the never to be released or the hope to be released is fair game! Want to show off your stuff? Whats wrong with K-mart?

Postby iheartarcee » Tue Aug 21, 2007 11:21 pm

I dont go there very often because its dirty and all the employees are angry (do you blame them?) But I went today while I was out and looked at the tf section. My god... That whole isle looks like a tornado hit it and they arent going to clean it up. Its actually looked like that since the movie started with an exception to the movie replicas. Is k-mart giving up as a whole to restock? Are they just waiting to die?

It must be a global thing, every Kmart that I have visited in Australia could be mistaken for a natural disaster area.

K-Mart might be light on Transformers right now but it was the first place I found the 25th anniversary G.I. Joes.

Same here in Chicago except for one of those Kmart / Sears hybrid stores. That one store is pretty nice usually, but the last time I went in there, the toy area had suffered the wrath of the Tazmanian Devil as well. The other weird thing about Kmarts is that it seems like the employees don't care about where they put stock on the shelves. Sometimes, I'll find lone Transformers hidden behind other toy lines such as Joe, Marvel or Star Wars stuff. And vice versa.

The craziest part about Kmart is that I clearly remember it being like that when I was a kid as well. There's a Big K in Fenton, MI that used to be kept pretty nice but I have no idea what that's like now.

The Kmarts I shopped at when I lived in Los Angeles were so nasty, sometimes entire aisles were blocked off by merchandise and garbage all piled up.

The ones I've been to in the Pacific Northwest are often the nicest, cleanest, and easiest to get around departments stores. They're also the ones where I've found the most TF stuff.

I guess it depends on where you're at.

I don't know about you guys but Brisbane's K-mart rules. Though they don't have anything there, hey take a look at the stores around you. Big W is the **** one at the moment they only have the damn helmets and Cyber Slammers and other junk. Transformer toys are over until Christmas. Stop blaming the stores if they don't have it then they are restocking for Christmas. Geez TF can't last forever in stores you know...

After reading that..I want to crawl into a corner and cry. They should be! -sniffles-

The k-mart thats on my way to work is also so run down aswell atm. Don't know if I went at revamping the toy section (had pegs missing from a section and new ones laying near it) But I didnt see a single TF shelf tag.

At my Meijer (I work there sadly) Only TFs they still have are the lame movie toys like roleplay, tech gear, real gear and 2 tfs in the alternator line.

K-Mart is a dive. However, there have been times when they even beat Wal-Mart to the punch. Hell, I found Classics Grimlock and Mirage all in one trip, after weeks of looking for the two of them. Even my girlfriend checked stores in her neck of the woods....nada, zip, zilch.

I walked in and was absolutely floored, I about fainted after that whole ordeal.

And yes. It's a nasty, dirty, stink stank stunk store, and the employees are even less than desirable. I don't blame them though...K-Mart sucks.

Hell, this should give you a clue about their employees...a guy walked into Wal-Mart (yeah, I kid you not) dressed in his full employee outfit, nametag included.

It's a shame. I remember Big Wheel, I remember Hills, I remember when K-Mart was a nice place (they were the shiznit when it came to TFs being in stock.)

It's all gone to Hell in a handbasket. -_-

Ah, Sears Grand.

I work for Sears, but I don't remember if its that format or "The Great Indoors" that's going to be shut down and turned into regular KMart/Sears stores.

Kmarts in the Atlanta area are crap. I'd be embarrassed to the their CEO, or even a store manager.

Yes DevastaTTor, they are crap here but I got back into Zoids a few months ago and they did magically still have Zoid figures from 1999-2001 that they were not supposed to have anymore due to their excellent inventory control piles.

It saved me from having to get them offline, also they randomly have Beast Machines here as well had some Obsidian the other day, they get odd new old stuff from time to time.

Also had some Pteradon from Beast Machines or something the other day as well. It is the one in Jonesboro in the classy part of town.

Got a K-mart nearby, the dumpiest of the three in the area (2 Big K's and a Sears Essentials). It's over-priced and pretty dirty, but I've had the best luck with hard-to-find TFs (Classics Grimlock, Classics Screamer, Movie Blackout and Voyager Movie Megs). One of the managers there collects, too. Nice to come across him when I'm browsing.

That's funny! I haven't been to a K mart in years cause most of the ones around my area closed. However When I first started collecting around 93'/94' I found a Breetai from the 85' robotech line.
