Which G1 DVD Set is the One to Go With...

Postby Zman3382 » Mon Oct 15, 2007 5:07 am

Hi, hope this is in the right forum..

Just wondering, with a few of the 'import' G1 dvd sets out there, which is the one to go with? Ive only seen reviews for one of them. Here are links to the 3 Ive run into on the net. Madmans looks great, I just dont want to have to get a PAL dvd player. Thanks for any input. -Z

The Chinese tin box set, hands down IMO. Region free, beautiful remastered picture, 5.1 stereo sound, tons of extras, bonus DVD. Can't beat it IMO.

Even $99 isn't bad, considering all you get. I paid $40 for mine a while back on Ebay.

Along that same note, I seem to have read some where that the episodes in the tin box set are out of order, and that one episode 'Arise, Atlantis' is not capable of being played in English. That was what prompted me to go looking for other box sets, even though the reviews of the tin set are pretty good across the net. -Z

Thats a load of BS. I wouldn't have said what I said about it if it had those issues. Seriously who the hell told you 'Arise, Atlantis' can't be played in English? Pure and utter bullshit. Where does crap like this get started?

Don't take me wrong, my anger isn't aimed towards you, just towards whoever is feeding you such a load of BS about this set.

None of the above choices.

Go for this set if you can play Region 4 DVD's on your DVD Player...

For the Madman set try here, they shipped mine about one week ago (still some time till it arrives) and they only charged me for a single disc instead of a disc set.

(Now to take care of that pesky Region 4 ...)

They are restocking, and should be able to ship before November.
