Which Vector Prime?..

Im wanting a vector prime and today i had a look and ended up finding 3 or 4 different re-paints
The only one i could find that had a major difference was the Universe 2.0 version not having any electronics so the info said.
Does any of the other re-paints have any mould changes and which one is the original homage to the character?
Cheers for any info.

The Original Vector Prime is the White with translucent blue wings from the Cybertron Line.
The Original Japanese version for Galaxy Force was pretty much the same except the white plastic had an almost see through quality, while the red was much more pinkish in hue. The Western version had a much browner tone to the red sections.
Original Western

Original Takara Japan

Both of these had electronics housed in the Nose cone section of the jet mode.
It was repainted for the Galaxy Force sub-line of the main Cyubertron Line and kept the electronics.

It was subsequently used for the 2007 Botcon set as Alpha Trion, this version as is customary with Botcon molds had the electronics removed. It also featured an entirely new head mold.

And finally repainted for the Classics 2.0 / Universe Line.

I wasn't aware this version had no electronics.
To my knowledge all 4 regular release versions share the same old with no modifications other than the paint.
Someone else may be able to confirm the Universe version is devoid of electronics.

All US releases use soft rubbery plastic for the wings and sword, but the Vector Prime from the Japanese Galaxy Force line uses hard plastic for the sword and his sword. Sturdier, but also more prone to breaking.
Universe 2.0 Vector Prime was supposed to homage The Last Autobot from the Marvel comics as Vector shares some design elements with him. and the emphasis is on "was supposed to". No electronics for him, much like his fellow Voyager Leo Prime from the same line.
The final one is BotCon 2007 Alpha Trion, who has a retooled head and alas, no electronics. Neat thing is, his key is entirely covered in gold paint, mimicking the Key to Vector Sigma.
And Overcracker, I appreciate you beating me to the punch, but the Cybertron refresh was called "Primus Unleashed", "Galaxy Force" was the name of the Japanese counterpart to Cybertron.

I think he was referring to the US series of repaints also called "Galaxy Force".

Also, Vector Prime's sword looks badass if you give it to Classics Prime... just sayin.

Yup, I was. There were a couple of figures that bore the Galaxy Force moniker.
Galaxy Force Optimus Prime, Galaxy Force Vector Prime. O.k so maybe sub-line was a little extreme. How about sub-tag-line-group. It is a little confusing considering the name of the Japanese Line was Galaxy Force. Which I mentioned above.

Re: Which Vector Prime?..
As far as I know the only remolded version is the Botcon Alpha Trion. All the rest should have the same tooling. The original character was in Galaxy Force/Cybertron, so those two versions would be most accurate. Galaxy Force has more show accurate paint apps, so a lot of people favor that one, I went with Cybertron because it was cheaper. I also recall the GF one having a strange shade of white that some people didn't really care for.
Aaaaand due to my slow internet connetion, the question has already been answered.
Hmm, seeing those comparisons, I think I prefer the Cybertron one anyway. The brown U2.0 one is pretty cool too, but one version is enough for me.

Ok, so we're clear on that
I have Galaxy Force Vector Prime (both US and Japanese, imagine that), I may detail goldie here with either silver paint or with a sharpie.
Speaking of Galaxy Force Optimus Prime, anybody think Hasbro was a bit lazy with him with the totally dark arms and legs? When I get him, I'll be hunting for a C-Optimus Prime junker for the grey colored limbs

Oh yeah Totally.
As for Prime, cheap repaint option I guess. Though I still like my original blue and red better than the black and orange.
I was hoping for a green and black version to go with the Movie repaint of Wingsaber but what can you do.

In my grand effort to collect all mini-cons I never really touched the Cybertron line. I will, as all Armada molds should be a part of my collection.. it's just I never did bite the bullet with Vector Prime. Guess I'll buy one or two of the varients to see if I should get the rest. Counterpunched myself. Damn.

Safequard is a very good Minicon, worth the effort.
More on-topic; Takara's Vector Prime is superior.

I really suggest picking up the Universe one. Even with his electronics stripped, he is frking awesome. I got this when it 1st came out and its still ONE OF my favorites. And for a voyager price, he is essentially and ultra class.
Maybe your would have known but maybe this would help u appriciate the uni 2.0 version better.
This is a homage to "last autobot" One of the 13 originals.

The Last Autobot is not one of the original 13, rather a safeguard should Primus be unable to look after his children (read: when he's killed):
Last Autobot on TFWiki (more reliable)
Also, on the Vector Prime character entry the caption for the Universe 2.0 toy reads "Last Autobot homage: Denied!". Hence me saying "was supposed to be" on the first page.

Cheers for the reply,
I was on the fence with 2.0 and the rest but with so many repaints and them all been the same character it comes down to which do i think looks cooler and for me the clear winner is the white Cybertron version
It's like he's in his prime and the 2.0 doesnt stand out enough for me if you scroll down the pictures it looks like he getting older, i like the youth full look.

Re: Which Vector Prime?..
I personally love my Universe 2.0 black Vector Prime, the color is great and the sword looks great in that color. The only other one I would be tempted to get would be the original color. A note about the 2.0 Vector Prime I find interesting that a friend of mine noticed while looking at it; the electronics are stripped as mentioned but the battery pack is still there but closed by what appears to be a type of nail instead of a screwdriver.

I believe there were 7 new minicon molds made for Cybertron. Vector Prime's, The three that came with each of the giant Planet figures, and the 3 that were in the Giant Planet Minicon team 3-pack.
While most of them have seen repaints in other lines. Drillbit (that came with Metroplex) and Heavy Load (that came with Menasor) have not seen any repaints as far as I know. (Maybe some obscure Japan exclusive repaint, but I have no knowledge if that's the case)

Someone else may be able to confirm the Universe version is devoid of electronics.
alpha trion is looking good!

Cybertron Vector Prime was the first Transformer I bought, so he's kind of special to me. I recently sold mine (it was in bad condition, due to attempted customizing), but I sort of want a new one, and if I get one, I want the Japanese version, since it has such better paint.
That Alpha Trion looks really awesome, too. I hope we get some version of Alpha Trion in Generations. A remold (or repaint) of Scourge would work well. It's got the facial hair, the cape, and a good enough robot mode for him.
