10 years from now which movie will you regret having NOT purchased?
...which toy might be the most sought after, maybe one that was for some random reason made in smaller quantities and therefore harder to find ten years down the road??
I kind of get this strange feeling it might be Target exclusive, repaint, G1, Starscream (#1)?? Then, most likely deluxe concept BB (#2).
other ideas:
Leader Megatron
repaint target exclusive jazz
target scout blue arcee
voyager thundercracker
desert two pack
first encounter
For classics I guess it turned out to be starscream, voyager megatron and ultra magnus/skywarp 2-pack?

I think that a figure, that thus far has been fairly hard to find may still be the pick of the litter in 10 years time...
08 Bumblebee.
-Reasons are many:
-Main character from the movie
-Continuing on to be a main character is subsequent movies
-One of the better toys from the movie line
-Fewer remain from 10 years ago because as a mass market toy, many were snapped up by children and were played with
-Many people who lost/ sold/got rid of their versions of the figures when they were younger, want to recollect them
Among other reasons.

I think it would be someone that no one likes, so it was never picked up. Everyone wants bumblebee so evntually they'll get one. I'm thinking blackout, wreckage and scorponok.

I know who it wont be, and thats Concept BB, he is just going to flood the market based on all the hype surrounding him and a "rarity" that is coming to an end.
I am betting on Ultimate Bumblebee. Everyone is shitting on him now but he is going to be one of those bots that you look for when someone post pics of their collection.
I think casual fans and kids will pick him up while collectors pass on him, but in 10 years...different story.

I totally agree with you about concept bb but I get this feeling that many collectors will keep him misb simply for the reasons you mentioned....therefore maybe there will be an over abundance in 10 years?
Maybe all movie toys in 10 years will be valuable for two reasons:
1) I see this movie series continuing forever. Therefore, toys from the first movie will only appreciate.
2) For the most part, physically these toys were made poorly and are falling apart as we speak... they become rarer and rarer every day.

Yep, I'm thinking Ultimate BB will be one of those figures that in 10-15 years down the road will command a nice 3 figure amount...just a feeling.
Eventually I'll grab one, most likely the Costco version...69 bux is a little easier to swallow than 80

10 years from now? with the quality control issues and inferior plastics of TFTM toys, i doubt that they'll last that long without some major breakdown happening along the way if you play with them extensively.
but for me, i guess it would be voyager Ironhide. he's pretty scarce in these parts and an MISB one commands a price of almost 40-50 USD converted.

Reading other responses thus far, I'd say that Ulimate Bumblebee and other figures like Scorponok may be sleepers.
Figures you dont care for now, but want to finish off a set later on. I only bought Scorpy for the sake of it, and I loves me the little guy.

I decided that figure for me would be Ultimate Bumblebee, so I went ahead and got him with Hasbro's 25% off sale. Same story with leader Brawl. Maybe the mainline Starscream or Thundercracker would've been worth getting, but I stuck with just the G1 repaint. It's possible I'll regret not having gotten Blackout or Scorponok, but neither struck me as up to snuff.
G1 Jazz strikes me as a candidate for later high value, since he ties in with original and was an exclusive.

FOr me, personally, probably Scorponok. I keep passing him up, but part of me likes him, part of me doesn't. He's the only transformer in the movie that didn't transform. At the same time, his gears moving around inside him look kind of neat. Hmmm...maybe I should go to Target tomorrow...
Otherwise, I have no regrets. Unless the lens-heads become extremely popular, which I doubt.

08 bumblebee dexluxe version even if I have the ultimate version, and deluxe movie arcee because these two are next to impossable to find.

arcee and 08BB are quite abundant 'round these parts. let me know if you want me to get em for you, and we can work something out.

For me it'll probably be Scoroponok. I planned on getting him when he reached the inevitable clearance... but he didn't. He evaporated from the shelves, and a couple months ago I decided I'd buy the next one I saw. Of course, since then, I haven't seen him, or much of anything else for that matter.

I also have a love/hate relationship with Scorponok. I've loved every character thus far to have the name, but I dislike the fact that this one doesn't transform(until I saw MOVIE MONSTER MODE...wait til the end.)
Currently, I'm looking for Energon Scorponok(good luck), but I may break down and get this guy next time I see him.

probably the clear protoforms. Even with this preconceived thought ... i'm still not going to buy them.

I agree. I bought both of them, but Ultimate BB is a waste 'far as I'm concerned. I think U.BB is one that will be in demand later on in the future becuase he doesn't really seem to be playable enough for kids, and is kinda unpopular with some collectors at the moment. If I were a kid I'd get tired of BB real quick......god knows I did as a collector who truly loves to play with his toys. I'd dump off my U.BB for $25, retail price be damned, but there is that thought in the back of my mind that one of these days he might be a real sought after piece, like a venerable part of ones' collection, not like monetarily valuable, so I hold on to him.

I currently regret not getting Robo Vision Prime. Now, with the upcoming release of the Best Buy Metallic voyager Megatron, he's going to need a "special" voyager Optimus next to him...
