Really, why isn't everyone taking the ad and having K-mart, Target, Wal-mart... price match? Why is everyone worried about getting to Aldi's?

Mostly because there are still a lot (though a lot fewer now, I suspect :lol:

) of people hunting Vehicons and to a lesser extent Airachnid.

Yeah, I see the point, but the kmart in Cedar Rapids\marion has most of those figs, they just want $18.99 a piece. :-(

Well, I was lucky that one of the Aldi stores is near a TRU I check occasionally and a Fry's Electronics where I can geek out about other stuff, so it was a good excuse to head out to that area. Another one is just a mile away from me in an area I go all the time. So I didn't go far out of my way to find these, and it was more reliable than finding a K-Mart which may or may not have the same figs and trying to do a price match, or price-matching at a Target or Wal Mart for toys I don't want.

I got Knockout and Airachnid at Aldi this weekend. (That's a weird store. I felt like I walked into a Bizzarro-universe grocery store.*) They also had Wheeljack, Dead End, and Ratchet (all of which I already had) and some Kre-O sets.

* The products were familiar - soup, cereal, frozen veggies, snacks, etc. - but they were all brands I had never heard of before. The cashiers all sat in chairs. You have to buy your own bags, so most people just put all their food back into the cart without bagging them and, presumably, just threw all that loose food into the back of their car. I felt so out-of-sorts I wondered if maybe someone had gone back in time and accidentally stepped on a butterfly, and now we lived in a universe that was mostly the same except we eat Clancy's potato chips and no one bags their groceries.

It seems to be a store for off-brand and imitation grocery products. I was pretty freaked out by the not-Lucky Charms. I bought a cheap bag of tortilla chips with my Transformers just to feel like I wasn't out of place, and they're pretty good. I dunno if I'll make it a regular stop for grocery (or Transformer) shopping, but I'm glad I found out about this deal.

Sorry to pester again but so many of you are lucking out finding characters so I might as well ask again. I have no Aldi anywhere near me. Anyone feel like grabbing a few and holding on to them for me for a bit? Im selling some stuff on ebay at the moment and will try to pay soon. My area is saturated with scalpers and I cant find the ones I want at retail. :/

I just happened to make a little side trip on the way home from work to a local Aldi to see what there was. I wasn't really expecting anything but Ratchets and Bees since this thread has been around for a while, but lo and behold, they had like FIVE Vehicons. FIVE! :DANCE:

I bought three and left two for someone else. I now have my army of three-actually four if you count the FE Vehicon I got from TRU today as well. Guess I'll make him Commander Steve.

I wonder if Aldi will be restocking these, or if it was a one-time shipment. Think it's worth going back to look for Vehicon if they didn't have it last week?

Ive been posting and asking for people to help me grab the ones I cant find and finally had one guy reply. He said he went to his Aldi and asked about a restock and they said another shipment was coming this weekend or next week and it should be the same assortment. So Id say its worth checking out again.

Just to confirm what people have speculated, I went to Aldi's today and they still had a good assortment of figures and they are still only $9.99 each.
