Alternators Still Alive? Rodimus?!

It's also a 2007 registered Hasbro product. So it's definitely not a reused box from another alternator.

I'm really hating the fact that there is no official arm canon gun pipes on his arms, and the visor is left unattached, I mean cutting costs on just those 3 little things is just simply sad and makes me mad at Hasbro...
I mean if your gonna import a Japanese version of an Alternator, instead of making it less then its counterpart, why not add one more set of pipes and make him better.. Its just good business sense, and its not like we are asking for alot, granted the new paint scheme is great, but not a fair trade off for the pipes and the visor..come on.. that seems kinda wrong to me.. I mean most hardcore fans, who also buy alternators, know of the simple little perks of the Takara Kiss Players Rodimus, why go cheap and drop those cool perks it doesn't make sense and really makes fans upset to see that kind of cheap production.. I swear...

I agree completely. He's not Rodimus to me without his pipe guns. The visor I can deal with (I'd still prefer it), but no guns really sucks.

Nah, you really are full of complaints...
I mean, really? Hasbro is cheaping out on this? You might have never gotten it otherwise on US store shelves, you're getting a pretty spiffy flame deco, and it'll cost you $20 and not $60, $80, or upwards of $120 if you're unlucky.
You're loosing out on the accessories, Xiao Xiao, and the visor (maybe...). My though on all that is...tough break. Everyone out there that paid more, bought early, and really wanted a KP Rodiums should get some little extras.

I think this is more or less a repaint of Alt Mirage with a remolded head instead of an import of the Japanese version.
I started thinking about the arm cannons and the arms are tucked under the car so I don't know exactly how it would work. Seeing as how the weapons for most of the Alts/BTs reuse parts like engines as weapons, etc so maybe the exhaust can be removeable and fixed to the forearms in bot mode.

I agree with this statement, but now I expect to see KP Rodimus accessories showing up on Ebay for rediculous prices.

Its just good business sense, and its not like we in the fan community are asking for a lot, granted the new paint scheme is fantastic, but not a fair trade off for the pipes and the visor..please let me know if the final production version being released will in fact include either 1 or 2 set of arm canon pipes, and the helemt visor..or the last choice the fan community wants to hear, that its not gonna include either.
Please, Please, Please..i can't believe i'm asking this and I'm and adult, LOL...
Also i separated my comment section from the question above just incase you wanted to add it to the Alternator query minus the comments..
Thanks Sincerely,
Adam
And here is my response from Hasbro on a previous question, its not much, but hey at least I'm making myself heard..
this was in response to the HAsbro Transformers Movie Unleashed..it was a little harsh, but oh well, i am not afraid to speak my mind, and especially to a toy manufacturer..My money and happiness as well as others keep them in business:

HASBRO: If anyone from your toy company browses this forum, please pay attention to this...
Your unleashed toyline, is great in idea, but in final product, it becomes lacking, as I have many friends tell me, I had the same problems with your Unleashed figures, they looked cool, but their poses were never quite right, and the sculpts were great, but the whole clearish plastic effects were just too much and really made the statues look cheap. That's mainly why most Star Wars fans liked the Unleashed but really wanted Kotobukiya. The Kotobukiya statues, though expensive, had a more realistic approach to the figures, and no corny, hokey special effects that detracted from the figures themselves.
The Bumblebee figure that is being released is a good start, except the pose of the figure is really difficult to showcase his cool robot form. the head is nestled between the forearm and the shoulder, and is hard to see, placing him out for display would mean turning him to the far right, and not being able to see the main body, so what's the point of having that great sculpt if its hidden all the time on display.. it just doesn't hit the mark. Which has seemed to be a running theme with the Unleashed line... the sculpts are detailed and look great, except the positions and gimmics really detract, and make the figures look aweful..
My advice, get new sculpters, and no gimmicks (clearish laser and fire attachments)..or get the sculpters to make the statues in a badass pose like the Kotobukiya line, action poses are over rated, especially when the figure or final product looks odd. It also would make a great option to include, limited posability, like for instance if the Bumblebee Unleashed figure is unacceptable to a fan, they could reposition his head, move the right arm down a little, or left elbow back some, and even replace the head with that of the "Battle mode" version. Now that would be a colossal Unleashed figure that I would buy 2 of!!!

It's all speculation anyways. No one knows if this is even legitimate or not. These are just things to consider. Hasbro may not even be releasing a Hot Rod Alt. It wouldn't be the first time a Kit Bash claiming to be real popped up on ACtoys.net.
We also have no way of knowing what the UPC on the box belongs to other than it is supposed to be registered to Hasbro. After looking at the website I found, I think users can submit info in the database much like Wikipedia, and we all know how accurate Wiki can be.
Until something is confirmed from Hasbro I don't see why we need to get upset over what will and won't be released with the figure or the quality.

I agree Swerve, But since it came up and since I made a query to Hasbro, Maybe, just maybe i could help make a difference if it really does see release.. then again maybe production is already complete and its too late to do anything about it, then oh well, I say again at least i tried, and continue to try to be heard..I'm an optimist..always will be..A can do, and not a can't...I believe our Generation X, are the new can-do Generation.. regardless of other peoples opinion of us..

I think Alt Hound and Prowl look a lot like their G1 counterparts. Once you put the Reprolabels on Jazz and Wheeljack, they look very much like their G1 selves. Actually if we are talking about toys, Wheeljack looks much better as an Alt.

does anyone else think his quote is a little innapropriate? "Wisdom always defeats firepower?" - he wasn't exactly one of the brightest/wisest characters was he?
anyways I hope this is not an SDCC exclusive, I do not want to go through another possible HasbroToyShop.com fiasco..and then end up paying twice the retail price on ebay..

wow, some of you guys are nuts...
Anyway I expect it to be an exclusive. Mostly because we haven't seen any testshots or anything until right now, leading up to the convention. It reminds me very much of when the botcon 2005 figures were appearing on ebay, one after the other and everyone thought they would be universe figures (ironhide, ratchet, and the fem-bikes).
Although it would appear to be a very large (and expensive) exclusive for Botcon, I wouldn't throw it out of consideration. A Hot Rod figure would work well with the Springer and Ultra Maganus pictured on the TFCC comic...
Plus this is supposed to be the biggest botcon evaaarr!!!
I hope it's just a retail release though. It looks nice!!

I'm remaining optimistically cautious at this point until we see more or get confirmation from Hasbro. Until then anything can or likely may change with this figure including the paint scheme and accessories if it is in fact real. I'm still uncertain whether it is standard business practice for Hasbro to take pictures of prototypes or newly completed figures on flowery bed spreads or not.

There are a few things I personally like to see changed before this figure gets a public release if it is real, but if we get exactly what we see, it won't be all bad. The GT mold is one of the best looking in my opinion so that's defintely a win, and the other good news is that we will be getting at least one more new Alt. Even if Hasbro just releases them one or two at a time, its still enough to appease the fans of the line and let's us know that Hasbro hasn't given up on an excellent series.

If this were a Botcon exclusive, then what a great year for Botcon. They have really produced some great looking, highly desireable figures this year already. Add something like Alt Hot Shot, if it is an exclusive, and I'll really regret not getting to go this year. Plus you also have the movie so I don't know what the following years can do to top this one.

How true...and though my angst over the additional perks are well known, i too would be happy just to get him on the shelf,"as is," in local retail shops regardless..

I hate the Alternators. They're overpriced, overrated, and just plain sucky transformers.

First off, The flames are a great homage to G1. The stripes on Kiss look better, but G1 had flames and this is a nice homage. And they look su-weet!
Secondly, perhaps this is the missing #25 alt I've heard people mention. You know, the numbering for Ravage/Rumble go 24, 26 with no mention of 25. Perhaps the figure was held up for some reason and they have only now been able to get the go ahead for it. Just a thought.
