He doesn't even have a rear end.. at least.. not really, just a big gaping hole.

it's the front end's "square" look that does it for me.

*cough*Movie barely looks TF*cough* These are Robot Heroes, except original molds, and can transform, and pure win.

This line seems to be very promising! I just wish they would have better heads!
I don't think they look like real European vehicles! They look like deformed what ever cars.

I like screamer too, especially the voice..
but I worry about the bot design, what I see on screamer I already have with classics Jetfire. especially the arm cannon and his feet.. almost exact replica's

Yea the voice rocks!
As for the design, the Energon Screamer was a duplicate of the G2 Dredwing miniplane! But still people bought it.

No, he wasn't. He was an entirely new mold with a very similar transformation.

I didn't say a reissue, it was a real close dublicate with quite a few changes.

You're simply repeating yourself. There weren't any "changes" made to Dreawing. Energon Starscream was an entirely new mold. All his parts were different moldings.

Karma works in strange ways. I think that the garbage movie toys were a worthwile sacrifice if it paved the way for a year that will see these and classics 2.0. Soundwave with that guitar is the sexiest thing i've ever seen. Change can be good.

great, as if we needed more division in the fandom.

I love the animated toys. For me, they do what the movie did not, which is to take transformers and redo them but still stay familiar to the original concept. Needless to say, I find it hilarious that now I am on the other side of the fence, and I already see the forces dividing on who hates these and who loves them. I bet the movie ethusiasts are going to really find this ironic twist amusing as well.

Question: for all those who disliked the movie, myself included, would the new animated figures/series have been possible without the movie?

possible: yes

But.. the animated series seems to almost... tie in with the movie gimmick, primes mouth-> faceplate, BB's battle mask. they showed them on-purpose to cater for the movie adepts while still making the figures (especially the decepticons) very reminiscent of the G1 figures.

Although not everyone will like the style, this is as good as a "best of both worlds" thing they could do, kick both sides of the fence against the knee with equal force.
