Barricade's death cut from film for PG13 (thoughts)
Poll: It has been said that TF got an R rating at first, and had to go back to cutting boards. To lessen the violence, you need to cut some kill scenes. Do you think barricade is really dead and the debate will be resolved in the DVD?
P.S. I apologize for misleading people on the previous Title

i highly frickin' doubt that. robots dying doesn't increase the movie ratings, human deaths do.
ie, short circuit, batteries not included, that gm comercial where the robot committed suicide?

Violence doesnt even mean much for rating nowadays. Lok at Star Wars, people die, get shot, decapitated, burned alive, eaten, and they all retained a PG. ROTS being the expection with PG-13. I believe these days sexual content and language will get you an R before violence does.

Na I think the thing with Barricade is either so much is going on in that tangled mess of robots that we missed what happen to him, or simply during the editing process they accidently deleted his outcome, which happens. Quite frankly I rather have them say he's still alive and the scene where they dump the parts was an error (although I didn't see any of barricades parts, others have said they have).
If not, then yeah the definately need to fix that in the DVD release, even if it means go shooting/animating if they forgot to in the first place.
While violent, it wasn't gorey. Like I said in another post, I don't recal any literal blood sheed going on, heck the transformer didn't even bleed oil or whatever. I think that had the most impact on why it got away with a PG-13. That and that fact that Speilberg is well... himself, lol.

i also don't appreciate how you named this thread to sound like an actual fact.. make it a little more apparent that you are only guessing as to why something happened, or put (idea)

I didn't think he was dead. I thought he was still out there somewhere. But I may have missed it cause so much was going on with the big battle. I would love to see him in the next movie.
Long live the Decepticons!! I love G1 Starscream!!
Don't tell Starscream, but I'm in love with movieverse Ironhide!

He's not going to be in the next movie. He got destroyed. It might not have been in the film, but it happened in both the novel and the comic. He was seen in the opening moments of the battle (and no matter what IMDB said, his appearance is not a continuity error, the book states that Barricade reactivates when Frenzy calls the other Decepticons to Hoover Dam), but his scene was most likely trimmed for time (no doubt one of many that makes the last twenty minutes of the film seem disjointed.) It's also been spotted that among the debris being offloaded at the end of the movie is one of Barricade's doors.
So, as one simple country doctor one put it, "He's dead, Jim."

I looked for Barricades debris being off loaded into the ocean at the end and I saw nothing. It was all Blackout and Megatron pieces. I just saw the movie a few minutes ago to watch for these continuity errors and no sign of Barricade or what happens to Scorpinok.

Good news as Barricade's chances to return in the sequal have increased!

It's been done before in many a film when an implied off-camera death leads to the character returning in the next movie, though often scathed, to please the favorables in the audience.

That's how I see it Avatar. The fans will cry out for the return of Barricade and to a lesser extent Scorponok.
I would like to see it as Barricade remains on Earth to kep tabs on Prime (and babysit Scorponok) while Screamer gets the reinforcements.

Ok, on a very, VERY slow replay from the final scene...
Barricade IS INDEED in the final battle scene, you just see him only for less than two seconds.
As Ironhide is running and shooting at Blackout, you see him tackle a cop car in mid-air, and you barely see that car transforming. As ironhide lands on top of him, you see one of his wheels fly off and roll away.
I guess they thought that would be enough to imply that Ironhide killed him? Kinda silly, because you don't even see him unless you're looking for him.
To be honest, I didn't even catch this until I went over the final scene with a comb.

You sure man i dont know. I think it would be better to keep him alive because he is like a spy. He can blend in with the humans well and so i think he is on earth to keep a eye on things now that Starscream had left.

You know what bothers me about this statement? Alot of nuts use it as an excuse when people don't see a ufo in a photo of a B52 at night

I'm not going to ask how you are able to do a "VERY slow replay"

And I highly doubt a rather important character will get a death while in car mode.....

Yeah, probably better you didn't. -_-
Hey, the Barricade thing was starting to eat at me and I really wanted to find clues. Bay has himself to blame for leaving an entire death scene out from his movie.

Just reporting what I saw, and I KNOW I saw it.
As sam is running alongside Ironhide, you see the cop car come out of nowhere, Ironhide says to Sam, "watch out!" and then he pounces on top of the car in mid-transformation, and we never see barricade again.
Make out of that what you will.

I barely remember that scene...didn't he also toss the wreckage after smashing Barricade? I could've sworn he did...
Ah well, I'll find out on Friday. I'm going back because damnit, it's worth the dough, mofo.

Nope. What you saw was Ironhide catching Blackout in car form, tossing him to the ground and pouncing on him in one 2-second clip. It just happens so fast, you think he's tossing wreckage.
BTW, if you're going back to the theatre, the scene takes place just after the "I'm really glad I got in that car with you" scene. So when you hear that line, pay close, CLOSE attention.

Sigh I have to redo this as a forum bug ate my post; give me a sec:
Sorry after reviewing the sequence; That is not Barricade.
(1) Wrong model of car; it's a sedan not a sports car.
(2) The top of the car is clearly visible; there are no emergency lights.
(3) There is no "tackle" as you put it. Ironhide slap catches the car and then drives it into the ground.
(4) You can clearly see Blackout pick the car up and throw it.
(5) the wheel debris does not match Barricade.
That being said there is a poorly inserted transformation sequence during the time Ironhide catches the car. It should be noted however that this was inserted over the origional footage as parts of the car are clealy visible protrouding out from where they should no longer be; the car is also solidly a car again when piledriven by Ironhide. With the cutting of Barricades death sequence at Opitmus' hands this could have been used as a convient way to explain his death.

Hmmm. So since no one clearly has an answer (one says this, the other debunks it, yada yada yada) there is a possibility that he may still be alive.
Not a sheeple.
Think for yourself, don't let the magic TV box and social media do the thinking for you.
Question EVERYTHING!!
Just because you have a youtube review channel doesn't make you special.
I look forward to attending a Botcon soon only to settle matters with several idiots in person (yes this is a threat).

I'll say it again. His destruction is shown in both the novel and comic, so it's a fair bet that his destruction was also going to be in the movie, but suffered the indignity of being among the scenes trimmed from the final reel that ended up making the last twenty minutes disjointed. (It'll most likely be among the deleted scenes.)

I've seen the movie three times and don't recall seeing Barricade in this scene...it's probably just a regular cop car, as the description doesn't match the official novel.
I don't think they cut his death scene for the rating. They showed prime decapitate Bonecrusher and Megatron dismember Jazz. Barricade in the novel just jumps on Prime's back and gets crushed againsts a column.
What I am thinking is maybe they realized that Barricade is a fresh, cool new character and saved him from his fate to use him more for the next movie.

After reading through this thread, it's just more proof that the last 30 minutes of this movie is friggin' insane... there's so much action...
I for one really really hope Barricade comes back, he rules and we barely saw any of him in the movie, especially for a character who has his image on alot of the promotional stuff, posters, displays, mugs, t-shirts, hats etc...
