Best transformers for $50

Postby Dunkatron1337 » Mon Apr 24, 2017 1:00 am

What is the best transformer that I can get for $50. Id prefer transformers that are related to the movies or 2005 and older. I also dont really like much of the new headmaster things. Also, should i wait out this $50 for some of the newer movie transformers coming out or nah. Anyway, the main question is still best transformer for 50 under the criteria. But if you could ansr the second question too thatd be cool

Is $50 the limit per figure or just for one good figure? I think what you should be looking at Takara Tomy's "Movie the Best" line. It's from this year, features mostly characters from the first three movies plus a few from AOE and contains probably the best screen likenesses yet. Best figure in the line is the repaint of a variant of the TF2 Leader Class Optimus Prime (MB-11), but he's twice your budget. The rest come in at around your asking price if you shop at the right places.

Movie 10th Anniversary Series Movie the Best

That'll give you an idea of what to look for, but you're better off importing from sites like AmiAmi.com and HLJ.com for the best prices. I wouldn't wait too long to get them, they're proving popular and some of getting hard to find. A few are getting a second run in August, however.

If you plan to purchase online, you'll have to consider shipping cost too. So would your $50 limit be for the just the item or including shipping?

Yes, I second Emerje's point. If you like movie figures, then you cant go wrong with Move the Best:

Another really fun transformer for that price though would be this guy:

You can find him at your loca toysrus.

OR, just wait a little while longer and this figure will come out in stores for $50:

yea. $50 for shipping and the transformer itself is my budget. Also, Im probably looking for voyager sized transformers. I don't really want to start a collection any bigger right now.

Then I cant think of anything better than that MB Soundwave.

You might struggle to find one for $50 but for under $70 for sure I'd say there is Wei Jiang's Commander (over scale enhanced Evasion Mode Optimus Prime) or the MPP-10 Optimus Prime KOs The ordinary KO's have a superior deco Shattered Glass option and a gorgeous white "Magnus" deco too.

But I won't go any further on that as I realise this site discourages 3rd party gushing.

For about $50-$70 you can get the Takara exclusive Legends/RID Optimus Prime [either deco] (more or less leader / super class) toy - that is a nice toy.
Much nicer than the cheap one with wings that came out in the west.

The Takara remoulded Optimus from AOE is nice too with it's wrist swivels and transforming head and premium deco.

You can certainly get a (possibly KO) Striker Prime for $50.00 - but since it's identical to the real one in any way that matters I really don't think it matters much so long as you are aware.

I would suggest HA Mudflap if he wasn't almost impossible to find. But Skids HA is worth buying he's often pretty cheap too. HA Jazz is very nice too - but be aware a lot of them are KO's.

I can't say what Barricade is like as I never opened mine.
