Botcon seekers debate circuitbreaker?
Forgive me if the point I wish to make has already been made somewhere in the other botcon threads as I have skimmed them but may well have missed it. Anyway, this is my first post so cut me some slack!
The botcon seekers debate seems to be going nowhere fast. However, I may have a circuitbreaker that avoids blaming Hasbro for discontinuing classics, which they never promised was more than a filler line, avoids blaming the botcon organisers for trying to maximise the attraction of their event, and above all avoids blaming each other for being too rich/poor, elitist, etc.
Here goes: Hasbro could have discontinued the classics line and still given us the seekers we all want in a mass retail release at a price we can all afford at even less financial risk than with normal figures.
How? By doing something that the company has never had any qualms about doing before, which is using old moulds in new lines. It's usually something collectors complain about - remember all the cries about laziness when all those armada moulds started appearing in cybertron?
However, fans would have rejoiced if Hasbro had decided to use the classics seeker moulds in the next cartoon line to give us TC, dirge and thrust. No collector would have said no just because they wouldn't be in classics packaging. Hell, even the names could have changed and it wouldn't have mattered. TC could have been be say 'Bluejet' and we'd still have bought it if the colour scheme was obviously TC. Perhaps on the back of the card it could have said 'Heroes Bluejet doubles as Classics TC' or something to that effect.
If the seekers appeared in the cartoon, kids would have jumped all over them because they're great moulds at a reasonable price point. What kid wouldn't want a classics seeker TC over the hopeless cybertron arm-doesn't connect-to-anything-version?
With the moulds ready to go, guaranteed appeal to kids via the new cartoon and collectors wanting to complete their seekers collection, how could Hasbro have lost? Seems like easy profit gone begging to me.

Welcome to Seibertron!
This was actually brought up by someone in the many pages relating to the Botcon announcement. However, I think the topic has been beaten to death at this point. Would a 10 dollar TC have been nice? Hell yes! However, we now have to lay down 10 times that amount.
IMO, both us and Hasbro are worse off for this. However, I think this set, along with the movie will make this Botcon the biggest Botcon ever.
And thats about all I have to say about that.

I think it's a valid point. They could well introduce Classics Dirge and Thrust in a future line, even if not by name.
But Bonger's right, this point has been beaten to death.
Welcome to the site, by the by.

When you mentioned 'Circuitbreaker' I thought of the old Marvel comics and the female who kicked all over Starsscream's tail.
Then I started thinking about the seekers debating her at Botcon for some reason...
Now I just think it would be cool to get a Circuitbreaker microman or joe figure!
Again, welcome.

To be honest, I'm slightly dissapointed that this isn't the topic of the thread.

If I had any images of Circuit Breaker, I'd start up such a thread.

I like the use of the "###". It emphasises the nuttiness.

Welcome to Seibertron.
Not a sheeple.
Think for yourself, don't let the magic TV box and social media do the thinking for you.
Question EVERYTHING!!
Just because you have a youtube review channel doesn't make you special.
I look forward to attending a Botcon soon only to settle matters with several idiots in person (yes this is a threat).

I'm now thinking that a Seeker with Circuitbreaker's silver patterning all over it could be cool...
Anyway, my hope was that they'd release the other Seekers under a different line, but that won't happen now. When was the last exclusive TF you saw hit retail? Even if they did, they'd have to repaint the mold again, to preserve the value of the exclusive figures, which would defeat the point.

actually if you buy the set it comes down to $53 a figure so really its more like 5 times.

Actually at member cost it rounds out to $55.80 per fig and non member cost is $65.80 per fig.

I am thinking that the figs may sell for more than those prices individually on ebay once they are released.

I think if someone is selling any of the seekers individually, the asking price will be a bit higher then $60. I'm gonna say that each seeker will go for about $90-$100 to start. And it's just gonna go up from there. If it's G1 related, it's gonna sell. Look at Ironhid and Ratchet (Botcon excl). If you can find one, they go for ungodly amounts.

I think a lot of people will opt to pay $100 for Thundercracker rather than $260 for all five figures. Some people will want T-Cracker really badly, but won't have $160 to shell out for the other 4 that they want less.
